My husband is on a rail gang, is all this going to affect them?

You honestly thought 7 years was enough?
Thought I wasn't gonna get laid off, but 7 years seniority clearly was not enough. Probably just ask him and go with what he says though.
Also, stop and ask yourself if he gets laid off or anything else you could imagine happens and he has to take a job that pays half as much, are you going to be able to pay the bills, do you have an emergency fund? If you answered no to either of those, that needs to be your primary focus right now !!!
Everyone's being affected. Depends on his seniority, and sometimes that's not enough to save you. Impossible to say if he's ok long term. If he makes it through 2020, chances might be good he'll make it long term
