Any ideas? I'm sitting on pins and needles here.

6000 views on this thread in what, 7 days? Simply unbelievable. The entire BNY Mellon organization lives in an organization of fear. If this doesn’t prove it than I don’t know what does? How badly does it have to be at a company to have this many people worried about their job all at the same time? Just wow.
Man, don't feel bad. This place was just bringing you down. You'll find another job soon and you'll feel 1000% better.
At least 2 in Orlando, confirmed. At least 2 in King of Prussia and 3 in Jersey City in addition to Lake Mary. I was told 200 people this week. Not sure of consistent ages. I am late 40’s. Still stunned- I don’t have “package” yet to review. The culture of fear and being enraged at the people who are being let go is prevalent. I specifically asked what I was ranked and was asked what I was worried about when I didn’t receive a dissatisfactory. Today was what i was worried about and yet they have contractors even now in addition to short sighted people In charge. Sad times.
Myself and a handful of others in Everett let go this week. Was GIDDY through the call - I can take some time off and find something better in time. Best of luck all!
1 from portfolio services on 26 in Pittsburgh today. From what I've heard there were several from 27 and 11 in portfolio services today and earlier this week. Apparently that is it for this round, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Nobody made me sign anything right then and there. In fact I wasn’t even offered a pen. I took it with me for review in a pre addressed return envelope. They actually recommended having an attorney review it before signing.
Also yes, my position was truly eliminated. My entire team was eliminated because they do the work in two locations and now they want to do it in one. That doesn’t make me or anyone else on team responsible for our own layoff. We were all huge assets to the operation we supported.
I love how they’re telling people their positions are being eliminated all while we’re still filling open reqs which will be doing the same damn kind of work. Be honest and tell people why they are really being let go cause that reply is an obvious lie . And to force people to agree to severance right there so they don’t pursue legal action is bs as well
What everyone needs to realize is noone is safe. They don't care about you or your family. You are just a number to them and they will have someone else in another country do your work. I never had a BE in all the years I worked there. Bend over backwards for the company and worked my tail off for what? Sorry your position has been eliminated. If you are still there get out before you are pushed out on your tail.
I guess all the lay-off questions were filtered out of today’s webcast with Todd. Only one close was asking about why the severance package is spread out. Todd answered it because Jolen wasn’t there. Didn’t allude to layoffs or apologized just answered the question.
Useless meeting today. Todd puts me to sleep. BTW, upgrade the tech so we can watch it on a non-IE browser!
Why would anyone assume just bad reviews, age, etc? No one is safe. A major manager and huge asset got let go today. An entire team got let go yesterday. A fully functioning group of people, just gone. The company is continuing to trim down.
At least people seem to be getting two weeks severance per year of service.
can we have more detail on those laid off? age range? all BE? got caught taking more than 1 snack from the pantry?
Wake up people! 3.5k views in a day is hinting something!
@1sii+13Mszm6y, this is expected to go on all week
@@etw+13Mszm6y, just because you only see people on here say one or two in their location or on their floor doesn’t mean thats all there was dumb a–. Theyre only commenting on people they knew we’re let go or how many they heard. And the greeters at the doors, which we don’t have In oriskany, are probably to deter miserable f—s like you from running their mouth for no reason . Your attitude s—s and it’s people like you that make the rest of us miserable at work everyday. PS. Windows are sealed so nut cases like your self won’t disrupt the rest of us when you jump
is this going to continue tomorrow as well? 3 from Ops on 12.
Ugh, what a terrible place. Still saddened as I write this having learned someone I admire was let go today. Not that it surprises me. It's not shocking a helpful, respected, knowledgeable colleague would be dismissed. It irritates me that tomorrow, (as I arrive early, log in, clacking away at the keyboard and wonder when my day will come) I'll see people like the gentleman who wonders the floor in his socks or the employee who comes in at her leisure to spend two or more hours holding social time at her desk.
To those let go today, know that I just may be thinking of you. You are admired and will be missed.
An entire forex team in pgh and a senior manager in GIA. So long Al
2 on 15 including a director.
Two of us on 14 that I know of today. I was one of them. Relieved and thrilled to be done.
They appear to be done for today. Check back again in 3-6. months for future rounds
Several were let go in Lake Mary, Florida this morning.
The entire processing, closing and post closing team were laid off in Pittsburgh this morning. I believe 7-8 in total, leaving the Boston operations team to flounder with excessive pipelines oh and we are now regional with a promise of
New hires but we all know how that goes. The new
Ops manager is a hitler in heels.
Six of us from. Bny Tacoma let go. Last time I'm checking in here. Good luck to you all
just confirmed at 10++ from Everett around 10am earlier today.
I was let go this morning even though I kinda expected it iits still a shock. After many decades and years of worrying it’s sort of a relief. I can now take my time and look for something new. I’m not worried about my age because I still got my wits about me and a good 6 more years to work before retiring Please have all those let go in your thoughts I’m from Pgh and I was told 150 in Pgh displaced to me that’s a lot I do have to say my manager and the hr person were very kind to me and I appreciated that
Four confirmed in Oriskany
5 hours and 2000 views. tells you something
No layoffs in 2020?
I’m sorry but it sounds like people are getting all worked up over nothing again. 2 in this office, 4 in that office, 1 in the other office. Yet no mater how many or how few that are let go, you always hear: “There are so many and not enough HR reps”. Oh please.
And then this cycle repeats every quarter. How can people work like this? How you get anything done when seemingly THE ENTIRE BANK in this constant state of fear about job loss? People at this company are worried every single day about loosing their job, and this fear goes on for years????!!!!!! My God! Why on earth would anyone want to do any kind of business with this bank? I’ve learned that the real reason why there are “greeters” at the entrances to the buildings at bny Mellon is so they can intercept any customers or clients of the bank before they have the chance talk to a regular employee. Heaven forbid they find out how bad everything really is at this bank.
The windows in the buildings are still sealed shut yes? Especially in Pittsburgh I sure hope so.
Layoffs have begun in Westborough MA
2 people in Pittsburgh that I know so far. In accounting and cash ops
At least one confirmed lay off in Everett this morning.
In progress
There are so many and not enough HR reps so they have to be staged throughout the week to support.
I'm not sure but my boss came in extra early today, so something must be going down. Stay tuned.....
When it happened to me in January it was on a Monday morning before 9AM.
My wife is an HR professional, and she thinks it will be tomorrow as HR have a lot of finalizing to do on a Monday, unless they worked over the weekend which is unlikely.
There's always a lot of final double-checking of lists and packages to do
