Accuse me but I’m a Membership Lead and I work hard everyday getting memberships out in the field. I am sorry that there is a person doing something that makes us all look bad, but don’t Judge people until you have been asked to go out and get 15 new and 15 renewals every week and you hear a thousand no’s to one yes. So next time you talk about something look at your self....do you work at your potential every today of your life? I bet not.

The hourly position is a joke! How has that “TEAM LEAD” outlasted Receiving TL, Accounting TL and all of Accounting, Personnel, APM, Audit TL and Audit team?!?! MOST, not all, of them are shady af if they’ve been doing it for any length of time. Anyone knows that. As for the person who posted first, you are spot on with what you posted! When we had an APM and a MAPM, one of ours got followed and found out that he was parking his car at home every day and logging 100+miles each week and countless made up businesses, just like the associate you mentioned. It’s CRAZY!!!
I mean, c’mon Sam’s Club.

Our marketing "team" gets maybe 5 sign ups a week IF THAT total. The main one going out every day has been with the company 20+ years and is signing up her friends and having them get all the promotional items then just refunding the membership in a month or so. She has signed her husband up for so many accounts we cant keep track. Her favorite move is telling current members to let her refund their current..up to date..nowhere near expiring..membership so she can "get them a better deal" to boost her numbers when managers decide to intermittently crack the whip. She just did that to a plus membership this past month and accidentally lost them $75 in cash back. The funniest thing to us is seeing these people's pictures when they come to get their cards and the business names she makes up for them..they are sitting in her car when she takes the pic😂 and most of these "business owners" cant even tell us their business name. We're all curious what she really does for the 40 hours a week she isnt in the club.

Why are these people paid so much and never checked up on? Ours is definitely not the only club with this issue.

50 hours a week
35-50 grand a year
You have to hit your goal before payout on anything
No Sam's share either
Once the associates find out you get paid when they get plus or credit your doomed

What is the base salary for the new marketing position? I have been a coordinator for more than 15 years and only make 15.00 an hour.

Currently selling 25-30 business sif per week at my club and I’m the membership tl running the program without a coordinator or membership manager at that. I’m still wondering what changes are going to be made. Marketing is not what it was 5+ years ago but what can one do? Absolutely nothing. Keep selling and be grateful I still have a job!

Our club can’t fill the position. No one wants it internally or externally. When you do the math, if you get the base salary, you’re making less than a team lead. You have to be experienced to actually make the position worth it.
