UP hit with 100 million $$ lawsuit. UP to submit a cleanup plan to state after high rates of cancer

“There is still more work to be done in this area to clean up what I consider environmental racism,” said Texas Sen. Borris L. Miles. “The state of Texas is not going to allow Union Pacific to ignore this site that has been plaguing our community for three decades.”

So if you knew something then why didn’t you say something to help protect human lives? What makes you any different. Don’t think you’re being a hero if you were a contributor.

It’s not an “ongoing clean up issue” UP has been trying to dodge it for years. They do the bare minimum to make it appear like they care. I worked with their Environmental Dept for years around Houston area. I have also been in contact with The Gibson Law Firm who is representing the Kashmere Gardens people to offer my assistance with the lawsuit if needed

Get cancer but also become a member of the family. The UP family.

Anyone can complain, but it takes a real man to face cancer.

Pick any yard, any town. If you ever worked the rails, say like a carman, you'd see all the c-ap that's dumped everyday up and down the rails. C-ap that we have been exposed to everyday. On the dry, hot days when the roads are especially dusty, just imagine all the cancer causing junk we've been exposed to. Management knew it, did they care? About as much as they care about you when they cut your job.

UP been avoiding responsibility that long? Is the lawsuit 30 years old?

This is not something new. Is an ongoing clean up issue of over 30 years.

good point. UP all worried about people documenting how much water they drank while they send you into the cancer zone.

Not to mention the men and women who work at this area everyday. What is to be done for those who have gotten cancer from this location or the ones who will in the future?
