I have a strategy. I know I'm the list, but I've been avoiding my manager this week. He wanted to have a 1 on 1 meeting on Monday when we usually have those on Thursdays and I knew my time had come.
So I come into the office and go straight to the 43rd floor to the executive lounge. I've been pretending to be a visiting exec from London. People take me out for lunch and drinks, you wouldn't believe the things you can get away with when you have a fake posh accent.
I've been getting buddy-buddy with my manager's manager. I've been telling him that my manager causes all kinds of problems and is generally disliked in the London office and that we have an offshore resource to replace him. Before the end of this week I plan to have my manager laid off in my place, or at least cause enough chaos to delay my own firing for another few weeks while I eat croissants and drink triple shot extra foam lattes all day.
