ETC Townhall - a new low

That was probably the worst town hall I have seen in about 20 years. No information and a bunch of talking heads who spoke mostly drivel. Employee morale hit a new low after that hot mess.

I attended both and they were very informative to me.

I have never heard someone convene a Town Hall, require attendance, advertise it like hell, then open with the words “we have no new information to share today”. They should have apologized and shut it down right there.

Town halls are held because someone has to give them as part of his job responsibility if he wants his bonus. The content is irrelevant.

@OP+13QumWGg - I also got to attend both ITC and ETC townhalls and I will say that the ITC one was better because it was cut short by the Houston water main break announcement. We had to stay for the full ETC one. ITC was saved by the city.

This company sure has a lot of town halls that don’t provide any value.

had the luxury of attending both the ITC and the ETC townhalls by being in the IT group that didn't show up on the org chart in the center. Both townhalls were pointless.

All I could think was how much money was being wasted with all the salary participating? That town hall was over when they said they couldn’t really tell us any new information about the transformation. It could have been less than 5 minutes or sent in an email.

Did they mention anything about layoffs, or do you guys just not have another forum to chat on?

A new low???? Well I cannot think anything lower than this years CEO town hall with that Microsoft Dude who was a total joke, let's make sure you get it, all other town halls will be trying to mimic those two clowns, so get used to it.

Favoritism always wins over everything else. It depends on what the favoritism is based on. Usually it is just plain likeability, not knowledge, experience, competency and productivity. Sad.

OP rightly said. What were they trying to communicate? All were clueless, unprepared and completely unaware of employees' expectations. Incompetency is everywhere, as favoritism wins. What a joke! A great company is going down faster in front of our eyes.
