Who knows, maybe it was the last group of people left behind to handle wrap-up and close-out tasks. I'm sure in some ways the old L-3 Technologies lived on for a while as far as invoices and bills and what not. Especially if anybody owed it money :)
Then what office in NYC are the 16 people getting released between May and September working at?

In some instances corporate staff was offered some jobs in FL.
However, the compensation was woefully less than NYC.
Secondly, the the severance packages at HQ were huge, so most if not all took the severance.
Except the Kube who sale of the corporation, to a much smaller corporation, with proviso that he gets something like 42 million if he isn't the CEO within 3 years if I recall SEC filing

When harris took over they closed NYC office approximately 450 corporate people L3 were excessed
