government starting to cut student funding to UP’s favorite schools for managers

Phoenix online and Bellevue University (located near Omaha). This is how these shady schools go out of business. Cut the available student aid and nobody attends anymore.

Good point. And the more they hire from these diploma mills the worse their reputation gets which in turn makes them have to hire more students from Bellevue and Phoenix. It’s a never ending cycle.

@1ien They could also be downvoting the part about UP not being able to hire or retain anyone who is any good from a decent school, which is also true.

Agreed. I’ve met a ton of people that work at UP with degrees from Bellevue including a former CEO. And that was before it got bad. I don’t know how they recruit anyone now.

The "University" of Phoenix isn't a university. It has no independent accreditation. The credentials they generate and distribute to graduates aren't worth the paper they're printed on.

Nobody outside of Nebraska has ever heard of Bellevue University, and nobody with a degree from there is working outside of Nebraska.

The problem for UP is that they can't hire or retain anyone from a good school with brains and skills, so they're forced to recruit from third-tier schools or send whoever they can find to the nearest diploma mill.
