Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is a 2.5% raise for grade 6 good?? Or is it a subtle message to go look for something outside? No trolls please

It seems average, but it also depends on how much you're making. The higher you are in the range for your grade, the harder it is to get more $$.

It is the standard garbage raise. Intel is a garbage company.

That is a completely reasonable raise, especially if you are new to the grade. Be worried when they start lowering your stock percentage. Intel (not your first line mgmt) is not overly generous with budgets. Your real money comes in the controllable portion like the rare promotion and stock targets.

Intel has not given more than 3% raises since early 2000 late 1990s.

Historically that is a pretty standard rate increase in my opinion. It does not imply you should move on, unless that is what you want.

It depends on a lot of factors- current TC, your stock target, YOE, # of years in grade 6, location etc. It's impossible to guess the message using just the percentage raise. Share as many details as you can without losing your anonymity. Also, why don't you share this on blind? It's a much better place for such posts.

Subtle message. Intel basically did just that with the 'rewards' program. You got 2.5%? Get ready to face the boot by end of the year.

In previous years the average Successful was 2.5%. It is typical and should not be worrisome . However if you have been an average performer for more than 5 years than think about either changing groups or finding some other jobs outside

That is considered average. I got that my first year as grade 6. The following year 3.5 percent, 3.6 and then promoted with 10 percent.

Then as grade 7, 2.2 percent, 3.0 and we will see this round.

  1. 5 % is the exact current US inflation rate – so in "real" terms your salary is just the same ( what was in previous year) the company is ensuring the basic min for the position and grade + exp...a zero raise can only be justified by an BE/IR –so yes its a subtle message your are successful but nothing more - you need to take on some high visibility initiative for the team or for some special s—ing up to the mgr.– politically correct wording make him/her look good... my mgr. sits with his feet up on the table and eats lunch during our one on ones – needs constant small wins improvements made by me and praise for some of the team mates he really adores and listens to. I got a successful with a 4.5% and might get exceeds eventually–need to keep up the one on one chatter

That’s dead-on average across the company.

depend on Geo, really. I got 2.5% for grade 7 with more stock than previous year. that's no harm shopping around the market.

Which country?
It's about average, unless you are based in a develoing country. No message.

It is rather good.
What is stock grant %% of target?

That's approximately the rate of inflation in the US. In my group, 4% seemed to be the norm. I don't think its necessarily a message to go look for another job, but it's not great either.
