Thread regarding IBM layoffs

RA in March

Yup this worthless place RAd me this month. Picked up by another company that is actually growing and not sinking like this ship. I get to double dip thanks to this POS. 2025 IBM will be so far removed from
The cloud that it will never recover or keep up. Good riddance! You couldn’t keep up with coronavirus if that was your mission IBM! Sink! Sink! Please get out the rest of you. 0 growth! AI is even getting passed by from small companies!

Sorry for late response. I was RAd first notice 3/2. I was on Lori Nelson’s team on the RedHat Program. Seems like they wanted to replace the high paying RedHat buyouts making a lot with wintel Admins making nothing. Typical IBM. They kept promising us RedHat subscriptions and never coming through, This has nothing to do with coronavirus I think just a dumb move by a dumb company. Thankfully I get to look for a job until 6/2 with a job starting Monday. IBM is so dumb and worthless.

Still ongoing, colleagues within my team were offered voluntary separation packages. Last day 31-3.

RA packages are a joke. Buddy of mine was let go late last year. 2 weeks severance then vaca time.
IBM acts like this stupid summit program is the next best thing to sliced bread. These scuzzy college pukes think they know everything, & they don't know jack squat. IBM views these kids as replacements for the vets who know how to do their job well. If you're in your 40's, you're a dinosaur.

GET OUT while you can. There are jobs out there. It's competitive, but still worth being elsewhere.

With CV19 I think the "office" is a thing of the past. WFH will now be the de-facto standard IMO.

Former IBMer left last year (thank god). Have many friends still there, but was told by several of them that jobs are going to be moved from a northeast office to Dallas office at some point this year. Anyone who says this company treats their employees well is ABSOLUTELY clueless. This is IBM's way of having people leave so it will look like they are not having a huge RA.

This company is a joke.

There haven't been any RA's in the US (yet). They are coming though. Please don't post fake layoff news. It doesn't help the people here worried about their jobs. That said, if anyone out there at IBM who actually needs continued employment, and isn't actively looking, they are playing a risky game. It's a sinking ship for certain.

Please let us know your location, job role, Division and severance package.
This will help others. I am also currently looking externally.
Thanks

This answers the question if IBM would dare to have RAs in the midst of Coronavirus.

When were you notified? Assume you knew the RA was coming your way?

Well done to you. I left last month. I was shocked about the progress the industry has made while being at IBM. The longer you stay with IBM, the more irrelevant your skills become to the wider industry.

Are you U.S. based? Can you share any details of your RA package?
