Thread regarding Verizon Wireless layoffs

I thought this company is supported to be proactive not reactive

Leadership in call centers saying we will close if there’s a confirmed case in one. Illness spreads like wildfire in the centers so how about we be proactive and lose to prevent a confirmed case!? Our kids are sent home from schools until April, but the adults work place isn’t closing so who watches the kids? Cuz daycares are closing too. Oh good news U can use sameday vacation or personal if in a bind. Yeah sure let’s use all our pto for a global crisis that isn’t our fault and have no vacation later in the year and have the adults be exposed at work to come home and expose the kids.

By next week we all will be shut down. We just have to wait till the senate passes the bill to pay us.

This is Verizon trying to figure out what to do. Like how the NBA first tried to play without fans. It’s all getting shut down.

This might change really quickly. First confirmed COVID-19 case in West Valley City. Center is shut down until further notice

I have never known this company to be proactive. Of course I can only speak from my experience. Which started a decade ago.
