Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

3/15/20 COVID-19 email from corporate

How incredibly irresponsible it is to tell employees they HAVE to go to work in an office. I’m disgusted by this company. I can’t wait for the email from HR and the “talking points” for managers emails to go viral on the internet.

They got so much backlash about their irresponsible work from home policy from employees and outside groups that they had to change it. We had a call with our team yesterday about it. Basically, anyone that can do their job from home can work from home until April 30. You can take home your monitor, docking station, etc but you have to let your department admin know so they can track the equipment. You can also work in the office if you want to keep doing that. They did say that offices may be closed at some point but it will depend on the evolving virus situation.

Pay Attention Here: vvvvvvvvvvv

They are reporting on this and HAVE A COMMENTS SECTION. I repeat: THEY HAVE A COMMENTS SECTION.

Go on there and voice your concerns. Expose the to public how this company treats/pays us terribly. Expose this company for shipping jobs overseas and it's carelessness for US citizen's healthcare and their data. Expose this company's greed and it's nasty culture.

If enough comments get to this article (Its the WAPO: they will love your rhetoric) this will push the article to front page news. And the word can get out about this soul s—ing company.

Hey, Wichmann (and everyone else): This is why we should be working remotely! This is the best explanation I've seen, and super cool:

Whoever posted this is oblivious to how this company operates. You won't be parking at all if you get the virus:

Best thing to do is go in and do your job the best you can do. By doing so- you will be showing the company that you want to be an exceptional employee. By doing so, you could get a bonus, promotion and even preferred parking.

I especially like the update on Sparq. that includes the talking points from Fauci. Prepare for potential full lockdown. We are not taking social distancing seriously enough. Do not congregate anywhere. UHC? Can’t wait to see you guys at the office! What a disgrace.

It isn’t like we are doctors where we need to come into work to save lives, the company is well aware that you are vulnerable to get sick if you come Into work everyday yet they still decide to go that route. Wow UHC, way to show that you do not care about your employees even though you clearly know what other companies are doing

I was horrified by Wichmann's weekend email, too. So condescending, such gag-worthy propaganda. There is no reason whatsoever that we worker-bee office employees shouldn't be able to work from home. Dr. Anthony Fauci himself is doing as much social distancing as he possibly can. But we're supposed to carry on and be around thousands of co-workers, sharing elevators, meeting rooms, bathrooms, cafeteria? Sorry–I'm over 60, and I'm working from home. This week and next are going to be bad, with numbers surging exponentially. It's time to flatten the curve! WORK FROM HOME–if they don't like it, they can fire us. HA! And by the way, I'm sure the little pow-wow with Trump included a lot of deal-making. It's all about the money.

Reading that email this morning made me sick to my stomach. I always knew this company didn’t care about their employees - but this right here is just completely irresponsible and disgusting. Wow - what a great company...not!

It’s so sad that I’m a healthcare company where the CEO has even met with the president that a woman in her third trimester was relegated to getting a doctor note for PERMISSION to WFH
