Okay so a lot of corporate retail stores had a jam session today to speak on a lot of new changes coming. I am off today but a co worker of mine said ALOT OF CHANGES Are coming.
So far I have heard leaderboard issues going to be gone as if next month

The technicians top base pay is around 100k with 4-5 weeks paid vacation for most now. Their entire compensation; medical, investment matching, 401k and pensions, and their compensation exceeds 130k. another 15-30k in OT for certain groups and well, it's not peanuts. Add in Union job security agreement against layoffs and well, you know what I'm talking about. Anyone with that kind of package these days stays up nights because they could be gone the next day.
My point really is, stop bickering. One team, one goal.

I think I know who you are ? 120.000 a year boy ,! You think you're better than everyone, you didn't communicate with any front line employees and didn't even say hello, and you're from a retail background! And you worked with a lot of us!Thats the current example of the toxic attitude you have toward front line employees. This perpetuate the culture of this current corporate and management team.

I am a senior manager retail operations. I have 6 direct reports that look at corporate stores and make sure they look good. For that I get $120,000 a year plus another $15,000 to $20,000 anually as an STI bonus. Great money for very little work. I probably put in about 25 to 30 hours a week.
@1nic+13aIvKJ1: I don’t know what job you have, but in my case the wireline equivalent job pays much better than mine. It’s all on Glassdoor and other sites. I don’t know what their union dues are, I could ask, but I think it’s less than 20 a week. Their work is similar to mine, and they keep me posted on any upcoming openings in their department. I would jump over in a heartbeat. Their jobs in the central offices are safe for the foreseeable future, mine isn’t.
Well, wireline employees make more than I do and their contracts last for years. So for them to worry every three to six years is better than me worrying about every stupid call we are told about. They said their contract is good until near the end of 2023. I think that’s probably true, more than one told me that.

I have friends on the wireline side of VZ. They never get calls like this, the only meetings they have are about safety procedures, training, etc. They get an email notification that there will be a company webcast about earnings and quarterly results that they can watch if they want, otherwise it’s recapped on the About You page.
When I ask them what they think about the big upcoming announcement on a certain date they don’t even know about it.
I worry and wonder about every upcoming change and they don’t even get notified.

Anyone hearing of changes in the Indirect channel I’ve heard about potential mergers with retail account managers reporting to a retail DM
I had to laugh when a few managers mentioned Verizon was implementing the new changes so that it would deter a union from being organized. HA! Are you kidding me ? If anything the new aggressive coaching and PIP process will only accelerate union talk and formation. It’s not about quota’s being too high and commission pay getting low anymore...it’s about retaining what jobs we do have without fearing being coached/pipped out because we won’t conform to slamming accounts. Now more then ever everyone needs some type of job protection. I don’t agree that Unions are the way to go but at this point they are the only way to go. Can someone please post how I can get a hold of a union steward in the Southeast? I don’t dare inquire about this at the store or even talk to fellow employees about it at this time.
If they are going to lay me off or convert my store so be it, I’ll get the severance package which for my tenure will be decent and take my skills and find a new job. I’m still young and I have skills that can help me find something else. I don’t see a reason to panic or get out now because I could be one of the lucky ones to keep my job.
Many directors shown the door by Jan 31 in the East. Hearing from a rep out of MA that all DMs in the area receiving packages. GET OUT NOW
Thats right. Let things happen. Let your store become an indirect. Let your pay get cut by 25%.
You can either let things happen and get left behind in the retail apocolypse, or be a leader and take the initiative to make a better life for yourself.
Every year I see the same things that retail is going to close up shop and that people will be laid off. All I can say is don’t panic and let things happen.
Nonsense, same chicken little c-ap as always, retail isn’t going anywhere. Sell and everything takes care of itself.
The writing is on the wall guys. Enjoy it while you can. If you are not a high performing rep or a high performing manager then I am sorry to say but the end is near. And the cuts will not be like the ones a couple years ago with the packages. Verizon will NEVER do those packages again. They will fire/wait for people to quit with all these changes. And it will happen
I am in the north east region and after our jam session this morning we were talking with our DM and he hinted that more big changes are coming and that our company in fact is moving to a more online scene. Expect SM cuts soon and low performing reps to be held more accountable. Sh– is hitting the fan guys

SM Cuts very very soon (some with packages and some without)
Store hours possibly changing 10-7 Sunday’s off
Also SM Cuts are coming soon!! And for you SM who think you are getting a package thing again!!!if you have ever had a write up or put on a final then your “package” is going to be more like a death package
