Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Sam's Club Lot Attendants question.

I have a question for Sam's Club Lot Attendants as well as other associates who might know the answer. My question is are lot attendants responsible for doing loadouts for Club Pick-up? I know that we are responsible for doing the loadouts for the exit door and help members load items out of their vehicles for return. However at our club, club pick up calls over the radio for us lot attendants to load members for club pick up.

Ideally the first response is correct. The Club PU should be involved in the carry out. However, given the reality of what happens, not having adequate staff to give proper service, the cart attendants are utilized for any and all club tasks needed. You might as well call yourself a TL actually. So, feel privileged. 5:5? Lol. Anyway, reality is not reality to those that make policy. How many clubs execute the 1st 5? Really? All I see are long lines... Where is the accountability for the "group" that set up this unrealistic standard in the first place. (Unrealistic only becuase the informational data entered into JDA is false). Until that wake up moment occurs, continue to execute tasks to the best of your ability as all work, wether at Sam's or ANYWHERE, is based on personal accountability and will to achieve. Many high ups started as cart pushers. They need to check that fact, get back into Reality, and reevaluate the policies and standards that are being laid out. Some clubs excellent at all the moving parts, some (many) not... That is a huge issue and hurts the MX more than anything. Contrastively, I see no such issues in Costco...

It would be best for club pickup associates to help load for the simple fact that they have a one on one with the member. The club pickup associate may gain more insight into the member needs and offer suggestions to help increase sales. The lot associates main priority is to get carts and help load not necessarily increase sales. The thought process isn’t hard to understand, increase sales also creates more income for the club. The managers hopefully understand this, even though they did lay-off a lot of the managers who understood this.

Yes. You also should be responsible for dispensing their club pickup orders as well if you check the job description.

To get technical, each role/job has a list of normal duties and responsibilities assigned to it. And then there is always a caveat in there of whatever else management deems to assign.

So it comes down to you pretty much doing whatever management tells you to. This flows down based on your role and not up. So a cart pusher would not be assigned to making pizzas but could be assigned to maintenance tasks or being wh–ed out to be a personal slave to a Karen.

Clubs in our region the cart associates help load members regardless of where they are coming out from. Be in the Exit door or Club pick up.

Carts and club pick up is considered member assist. You should be doing their job as well as them doing yours. In our club we dispence , pull carts, load orders and shop.some do more then others which isn't fair but that's life

No, , Club pick up associates usually load the members vehicles. If there is a heavy item, they call for cart attendants to load or if there are multiple flat carts they might call for assistance. Each club has to work together not work against each other.
