Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Would something like this be useful - newsite?

I work in the corporate IT and would like to see if you think that we should have a website that will be a discussion space for Sam’s and Walmart employees. I can go and build that, it can be similar to what we have here on layoffs.com – Anyhow, if you think this would be valuable, please upvote this thread, alternatively downvote it if you do not need it.

Finally, respond to this message with requests on what kind of features you’d want to see on the site (e.g., a section for different employee groups, section for discussion on benefits, etc.).

I think the original poster was in the same position as we are and he was offering to build it on his own, using his time and money, not Walmart's - something like that would be welcomed afaik

Yeah. Be sure that we need to log on with our WIN number to comment. That way we'll know it's anonymous. After all, the company has earned our trust over the past couple of years.

No thank you. Every tool and app the Home Office rolls out is usually as useful as a screen door on a submarine.

Management: Make sure you take the AES it's anonymous. (That is bull$#!t. They can identify us if they really wanted to.)

Why would we want a new tool that directly identifies us that puts a target (no pun intended) on our backs for termination? Walmart & Sam's already don't need a reason to terminate us as it is. Why give them an actual reason when we voice our First Amendment rights?

Besides, the Home Office already monitors this site and our Reddit site. They have the finger on the pulse already - Walmart/Sam's is one of the bottom of the barrel, dumpster fire of a jobs out there.

Better yet bring back personnel associates. They were essentially the mediators between managers & associates. As well as an actual person to go to with questions about benefits, PTO, and other areas of concern that leads and managers quick answer to is “I’m sure it’s on the wire or one.walmart somewhere”...
