Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell Technologies Cork Midrange shift pattern change.

We were recently made aware of our new shift pattern here in VXRail, Unity/VNX teams. We had no input in the new shift , some teams have just lost 20 of their rest days per year.

Later shift start and finish times , people with children and dependents are devastated. No extra pay for working unsociable hours.

We had sent a detailed E-mail to our manager and director with our concerns and then we were pulled into 1 to 1 meetings with our manager so that they could intimidate , divide and conquer.

Our manager will not have a group meeting with us as the manager knows it wont go well, we still have had no reply to our concerns only "if you don't like it there is the door" attitude.

HR of course side with management, with a reply " Your shift was too good" .. why change something that works !

I came to Dell Technologies because I was under the impression it values it's employees, boy was I wrong ! Seriously considering going back to the company I just came from ... and that is not saying much.

I can see a few of our senior engineers who prop up the team leaving as the shift was one of the last few perks to the job.

I guess this is just a way to get rid of people , Dell technologies is lucky there is no Union.

Targeting the Senior people 20+ years. I was let go and was upset but as I live outside the bubble I can see the faults, treatment of people. The law of the land ends at the gate and they do as they wish with people. I am so glade I was let go the best thing that has ever happened to me. Dell are all show, tick boxes as an employer that cares etc its for show. Your a number / cost. Would I return, No.
I am not a bitter past employee, loved the people I worked with but the truth is Dell are not very nice people at business. My working conditions reduced and pay when Dell took over and to be honest I was not willing to accept 1980's style treatment of staff very much longer. I thank Dell for letting me go, they done me a favour. Cost and any cost is Dell's logic. Long live EMC, Dell will never be an EMC.

dude, you got to know someone to get any meaningful benefit for yourself. Dell is purely a 100% relationship based. also, nobody will miss you if you leave, not even a dent, plenty of Indians and friends to hire from

Have to love the regionalization plan right? They COULD hire enough people to do it right, but no, let's stretch our already understaffed team even thinner. I miss EMC

"I came to Dell Technologies because I was under the impression it values it's employees".

With lines like that, you should consider a career in comedy!
