Word on the street is they are trying to get rid of people via impossible performance reviews. Reviews were initiated today. Start looking for jobs Oracle is going down

Here's my advice. ALWAYS fill out your review and try to do a good job. If you manager then chooses not to bother to process it, then that's on him/her.

Otherwise, the manager can point to you as a low-life that never fills out their review because they never did anything. Don't let your manager use that against you.

ALWAYS do your review, even if the manager tells you that you don't need to do it. He can use it against you and you do not know what he might be telling the management above you about you.

My manager was lying to the management above about me, when I was doing all the work.

Some people job's to create the performance for everyone in the group reporting to same director. It's all fraud...told what to be put on your "PR". Oracle is run my mafias...at least at the local level.

I used to cut and paste my performance review from the previous year. My boss used to get a chuckle out of it, because like yours, he knew it wasn't worth the time it took to fill it out. They used to get on his case if we didn't do them so we did them just to keep wolves off his tail. I liked him so I didn't want him to have to listen to them.

Been at Oracle 11 years. I have done a total of 2 performance reviews in 11 years. My current boss just said don’t bother it’s all bulls... so saved a ton of time and nobody seems to care.

I totally agree. Performance reviews at O have always, during my long tenure, been an afterthought. Often done 6+months after the review period has ended and seldom more that an unprepared 10 minute chat. By this time grade/performance has already been decided so it's always just been a box ticking exercise. Any goals/deliverables set for the next period are often a joke and as for 3/6 months interim reviews.... never happened.

That's a non starter. Too long and complicated process and above all too involved for management to fire somebody based on their performance. Open to litigation too. I call b—s—.
