Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

I think the whole reliability thing is just a ploy to get rid of people quicker when the business needs it. That’s why they get rid of the point system because that was a shield unless you stole something. At least that’s how Macys used to be run . This new lead program to train Leeds to become managers is just a ploy to get rid of all the sales managers and replace them with younger and experience management for a lot less money . Before Christmas we had a sit down with a corporate HR person about how we felt about the Christmas season and my impression was she wanted to make sure that you were going to do 100% knowing that you might not have a job right after Christmas this is never happened in the whole history of Macys! It just seems like they wanna make sure you’re OK knowing what’s coming . After reading all the comments on here I think Macys is taking the gloves off and hitting below the belt ,breaking all the rules And throwing everybody under the bus just to keep the lights on . If you remember the scene from the titanic movie where the sh–s going down and everybody screaming and the lights are flickering , Women and children first and the liferaft , It took the titanic 2 1/2 hours to sink aka 2.5 years for Macy’s to go down. And I think a lot of these retail company is going down is because they sell carbon footprint type products which we are going to complete green by 2025 but Macys never got the memo. So for Choosing another career it might be best to seek out something like solar or a green job since that’s going to take over and you’re gonna drive by a burned out Macy’s in your electric car and reflect back on all that stress like it was just a bad dream while they tear down the Macy’s. Managers can’t manage , sales associates don’t care and are looking for another job , Loss prevention guy still think there in the FBI , And good all Jeff Has $100 million life raft taking him slowly to shore while you watch your health disintegrate. Amazon is hiring you know!

For hourly associates, 1 week of severance per year worked, min 4 weeks and Max 26 weeks. Executive severance is different. Both have cobra benefits also.
