My bet is that GTS will become part of HCL or TCS before year end. Anything less than complete divestiture of that org and possibly GBS with it, will mean nothing is changing, and they know they need to do something big now. Not one analyst report I have read suggested that IBM make the best of keeping Services. As was said in another posting, IBM will seek to become a niche player, keeping parts of RH and maybe some interesting IBM products. A few years from now, IBM will be a much smaller player.

Oh boy. This sounds like it's going to be a fun ride with this guy.

I do agree with the last poster. I met Ginni once, unscripted - she was personable and cordial. Other than her running IBM into the ground and awful decisions costing 1000's of IBMers their jobs, I can't honestly say she was an unpleasant person to talk to face to face.

This new guy seems to have a superiority complex and that will mean his underlings will be falling over themselves to please him.

More first hand Krishna experiences:

  1. When coming to visit our office, his entourage rallied local management to tell them about how great Krishna is and how everyone should say the same about him. I am not kidding. Every intro we had that day was two minutes about how "this is the smartest person in the world". Were they afraid we wouldn't be able to tell?.
  1. Myself and a few others authored a RedBook with him. Not once did he accept an edit from someone outside his inner-circle. Added to that: The content he contributed, he clearly did not write. One of his "staff" did the work.
  1. He talks down to everyone. After awhile you stop listening. He ain't no Ginni - and that should scare you.

@uqq I want to hear more. Sounds like we’ve gone from bad to worse. Never once heard that Ginni was arrogant or rude.

Not the replacement we need. What has he done for IBM Cloud? NOTHING. Expect Services to be sent entirely to India. This guy is no Satya Nadella. He’s another boomer generation Indian guy, we all know the stereotype. Coming from an Indian person, I can say his culture is the last thing we need at IBM. I’m scared and preparing my exit.

He was one of a long parade of managers we had after the Cognos acquisition.

He once berated me personally because my PowerPoint slides didn't have enough text or full sentences! In meetings, he would grandstand, tell us about his technical prowess and not let anyone outside of his team talk.

I remember him to be an unusually bad public speaker. His presentations were insanely boring - way too much text and too many full sentences. We can read dude.

Every dealing I had with the man was negative. Arrogant and full of himself. A bully and not a leader.

My prediction: He will make Ginni look like saint.

It's worse than that. His charts were all red but he was saying everything's great. Either clueless or a liar. Just like Ginni.

At least it wasn't MS or BvK. Huge sigh of relief.

Krishna just had his last all hands call... his charts were mostly showing red... good luck with that guy.
