Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

NBS District in Northwest Region

The amount of store managers who have left this district is crazy. Over 90 years of combined Macy’s experience lost over the last few years. My store has changed for the worst and my position will probably be eliminated in the next announcement. Sad.

10 stores from Union Square (SF) to Redding. Four store managers and a Market VP all left the nightmare. Like the previous poster I also saw support budgets and no can do this. Just waiting for the ax to fall.

not sure the exact numbers the OP's district had but 90 years of combined service might equate to 3 store managers with 30 years of service each. If the district has 20+ stores then that's not exactly the Apocalypse.

just sayin'.

Take the severance and run is my advice. It's not going to get any better. We got our support budgets for next week today and the hours were so low and we have a ton of markdowns and trucks to unload, no way its ever going to happen. I also work in the NW and the holiday season was a nightmare with all of the open jobs, unqualified executives who were covering multiple store or even shipped in from other regions to cover. All the best people are leaving and thank god its not hard to get a job some place else.
