I am part of UHC. I think that the 10% reduction in staff is accurate.
Each leader has been given that target at the beginning of the year since 2017.
I was forced to do layoffs in 2017, but thankfully in 2018 and 2019 I had enough attrition (which I couldn’t backfill) to not do layoffs.
The timing is determined by higher ups and most managers don’t find about layoffs till right before it happens.
