So that statement is false. Word is Naveen was the scramble choice after the original choice changed her mind at the last minute.

I have no love for the Fake-CTO, but are we all forgetting that he was brought in by Hal?

And isn’t Jill the female version of Naveen on the product side?

Ok, let's say Jeff fires Naveen. Who do you think he'll bring in?

When he became the new president, he put RB Harrison (COO) in charge of technology. Why? Because traditionally, the CIO (Larry Lewark and his protege Brian Leinbach) reports to COO and their job to do maintenance and pass compliance with lower and lower cost each year.

Jeff refused to create a CTO role until Yasir demanded it.

He now put the CTO role under COO yet again.

Naveen is exactly who he is. A grinder, yes-man, maintenance, hierarchical, command and control leader. He will never be a growth mindset leader and that's not his fault.

He's 100% Jeff's choice. As long as Jeff is there, Macy's will not grow but they will shrink gracefully. If you replace him with a growth mindset CEO, then s/he will replace Naveen 100% since he's not the right person for the job anymore.

Refer the complaint on Macys Tech a to the Trump whitehouse, https://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/ and list the 'Home Depot' loosers by name for cutting so many people and outsourcing them to India. In this election year, I guarantee you will get a tweet or two and that will be enough to bring these clowns down.

I left MST in 2016. The toxic work environment was already well-established then. But what I've heard about Naveen hardly supports the "we treat our employees with respect" claims being made. It's not like the CEO can possibly be unaware of how much spirit and morale his CTO has destroyed. So, either JG is clueless about one of his top dogs or he has the exact hound that he wanted... I suspect it's the latter. If the leadership has a goal of out-sourcing more and more roles, then it makes complete sense to make the environment as toxic as possible. Doing so encourages more people to leave on their own while also allowing the company to save on severance packages.

To all my former coworkers in SFO, Mason, and Lorain, I'm so sorry. If it is of any consolation, I've yet to talk to anyone who left Macy's, either voluntarily or by lay-off, who isn't happier today. Please, don't let yourself fall into the "what did I do wrong?" mind trap. Most of the fat was trimmed years ago. All they have left to trim now are hard and devoted workers.

To those who remain behind, don't allow your integrity and any remaining loyalty get in the way of acknowledging that no one is exempt from being let go. Your employer rewards neither of these qualities. Just look at the many people let go this year. Like you, they were likely also loyal and good people.

totally he needs to go, most arrogant jerk i’ve ever met and there has been a lot of them at sabre/fsg/mst/mtech... no real tech vision, zero appreciation for what retail is all about... this ex-big orange crowd ACTUALLY thinks they are real technological geniuses & developers and have forgotten they are there to SUPPORT a retailer... this once great shop is crashing and burning as we watch...
