Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

The whole "district" situation

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like districts are here to stay, just under a different title (divisions??) It seems like the whole point of doing this was to eliminate the district managers but still keep the separation within regions. It would be near impossible to have one lump sum of stores with no further categorization??? Anybody else?

Districts gone, all eliminated, Regions expanded. It’s that simple, do people not pay attention to the facts, but spread what they think to be a fact, but is truly a misunderstanding, speculation or rumor. Get you sh$t straight!

Who are you people? Districts are gone. The only thing left in the new Division is the DVP. No HR, No Visual, No OPS/AP, No District Merchants, No Staffing. Totally different. No semantics here. Completely wiped out.

Macy’s unfortunately are getting to be real pros at the practice of eliminating and renaming basically the same position in order to weed out the more experienced who have earned their salaries and benefits. So many great district people gone this week and given no choice about the matter, talk about “division”. I realize it comes down to business but there is so much waste in the company when it comes to unnecessary expenses, could have saved many jobs.

Possibly. They keep using the district names in communications, but perhaps that will fade away in the coming weeks. Although it wouldn't surprise me if macys is keeping things somewhat the same, just changing titles for semantics. That seems to be the name of the game little by little the past few years

That sounds kind of like what is going on- but no one really knows for sure. I don't even think corporate knows quite frankly.
