The small severance package that the company is offering doesn't seem to be adequate to keep people on until the transition takes place. The SD staff is dropping like flies. I don't blame them.

There are thousands that were affected and many teams have skeleton crew.

Bare minimum and poor performance is growing.

There has been some unpleasant conversations with hospital leaders about why IT is charging back for outsourced services.... that conversation will grow more and more as Ascension Technologies redefines themselves.

There are two project managers per analyst. Talk about an upside down organization. This is it.

If you go with a severance package, please get your paperwork in immediately so you are paid on time. Shame they got all that money to get rid of AT. They got rid of revenue cycle and R1 is a royal sh– show. They laid people off after they reapplied. They’ll want you to train the people that will take your jobs. Beware if they ask for SOPs I’d purposely give wrong info. Make the off sure people figure it all out. When the HR system is messed up and the execs start feeling it then they’ll see.

All that money they got from the federal government...and they can't even keep the jobs here...
https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/finance/20-large-hospital-networks-received-5b-in-federal-bailout-funds.html

"St. Louis-based Ascension, which has more than $15 billion in cash, received $211 million in federal relief aid"

If you (SD Director) have to send an email to the people you f—ed over to tell them to help you LIE, that's a good indication that what you're doing isn't right! Going forward I'll say what I want with as much regard for the company's reputation as you had for the SD.

If they come at me with Non compete clause...better have a portion states severance package upon layoff...loss of company I'll be supporting...greater of half the remaining salary per year or 200k for at least 5 year deal.

A company that outsources a large portion of their work force in order to exploit cheap labor in other countries is only looking for desperate yes- men to fill the positions still available in the US.

They will never pay you fairly.
Your job will always be one step away from being axed.
They don't want loyal employees.
They want desperate people that have no choice but to gobble their corporate c—s with no questions until they want to be more "agile" and kick your a– to the curb. Again.

Anybody who sticks around on this sinking ship is a damned fool.

I've been with 2 other companies that tried to pull sh– like this and it NEVER works. Everything that ascension has been doing over the past couple years is a giant red flag that they simply do not give a f— about their employees. The leaders care about lining their own pockets. Nothing else.

Anyone who thinks working for HCL or Accenture is going to be anything but a sh– show is naive. You are expendable now and you will continue to be expendable with HCL. How could you ever feel secure in your position with how this company conducts itself now?

GTFO everybody. F— this company.

We just need to get out now. I’m not reapplying. This is an Indian company and then won’t be keeping high paid analyst around when they don’t have to. Read the third comment down(and many others) in the link.

I am a current employee. I think that the severance will tell us we are not allowed to work for them for a certain amount of time. After researching, I am finding that other departments are being laid off as well. Senior leadership strategically compartmentalized each meeting by having them separate based on role titles. In each meeting they notified everyone that their were two new departments being created, made it seem as if the new roles were made specifically for them to apply to if they wanted to stay, but in reality the number of open roles compared to people they are laying off does not compare. Not to mention you have directors who are being laid off, applying to manager roles (which they will likely get), managers being laid off (applying to front line roles which they would like get), and then barely any existing front line people will have a job.

I bet in that severance package going to be something about not being allowed to file for unemployment afterwards...

Ascension is laying restructuring their entire Recruitment support staff, any one who aids/assist recruiters. They only gave 45 day notice and will be disclosing details of severance 20 days before the last day of work. The details will only be revealed to employees who were not hired into new roles within the company.

Nothing was made up. Was just someone out here trying to help, yet you had “Karen’s” screaming about how mean we were being giving vague information because we didn’t want it being pointed back to us. By the way, yes, they are keeping a lot of people on board. You dont have to believe it like you didn’t before and got defensive and said these were lies just because your a ball of emotion stupidity, but your probably not one of them

To the previous poster, I am not sure who you are referring to.

But I will say I have not read anything on this site that is made up. The fact is ascension laid off thousands of people today. If you could give more information as far as what was made up I am sure the poster would be glad to elaborate.

I find it interesting that they said "everyone under" this one person was impacted. I am willing to guess that is a false statement. I do not know why they need to lie about it at this point (I have yet to figure it out)... however I am positive they are keeping a selective few and are not announcing that to the masses.... for whatever reason.

From google -
"Ascension cares about their employees and their patients. All healthcare organizations have issues, but Ascension is the best by far. I have worked for 4 large healthcare organizations and they have the highest morale among employees. They require that everyone including physicians be respectful at all times."

I am positive this had to be written 5+ years ago.

It once was true...

Do they really think a Doctor is going to have the patience to stay on the phone with someone with English as a second language? Hell, how many nurses have zero patience for sitting on the phone for 5 minutes with one of us?

This just isn't going to work more than 2 years before ascension starts losing hospitals because they are no longer getting support in a timely manner.

Have they even considered the fact that patients lives could be at risk while some poor provider struggles to understand the analyst they are speaking with?

Who am I kidding. This is just another greedy f—ing CEO trying to grab every single penny they can get their slimy little fingers on. Good f—ing riddance.

and here we are.... months later and the "rumors" were true. Glad I left when I did. Company pushed away good IT techs and hired "customer service experts" who were good at saying "please" and "thank you" but couldnt even use a computer. Place has been going downhill since 2017. This is what happens when you have sh–ty people in leadership positions - you push the good employees away and you end up understaffed across the board, leaving no choice but to out source. Hopefully you guys find a better job and can do real IT support.... not that call center garbage.

This is a All Hands meeting. I highly doubt they are going to announce layoffs mid week without any direct contact with your leader. I’m not sure why people are so confident in thinking that a company needs to give you advance notice when layoffs occur. In either case, hopefully it’s something positive.

They are not letting people go today. Just announcing cuts are coming. Remember the mass layoffs in June 2018? We had an all hands meeting with Gerry in March 2018 letting us know about the “reorganization”. The layoffs came three months later in June 2018.
