Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Definition of Greed!!

Comparatively, the median employee pay at UnitedHealth was $57,412 in 2018, 316 times less than Mr. Wichmann's compensation.

Still, Mr. Wichmann's total compensation for 2018 was down from the year prior. After cashing in stock options from previous years, he recorded a total compensation of $83.2 million in 2017, according to the Star Tribune's calculations.

Hey it was reported in the financial times that UHG got out of the affordable care act exchanges in 2017 because the individuals were not purchasing their product and then they lost $702,000,000. Any coincidence why the layoffs still keep occurring? The company wants to recoup their losses from the affordable care act exchange debacle. Good luck to everyone and get out unscathed from the crooked establishment.

ID: @3nex+13pCtluf What we have now Is corporate greed extreme. Now corporations make the rules. He who holds the most money, makes the rules. Unbridled, unchecked and immoral greed at the top, gobbling up all the profits - while they throw the worker fewer & fewer sc-aps. “That’s slavery with extra steps.”

Hiding behind capitalism is not right. These are thugs and they care only about their pockets. What does this CEO does 300x times better? He invented some new product, wait he is doctor, he is a visionary, wait he turnaround this company... fact is he is a member of the old boyz club. Greed is ok, heist is not.

That's called communism and we don't need that in America. Go try out Venezuela and let me know how communism works out for you.

Is there some sort of law or requirement that there be such a disparity between the median income employee and the top page CEO? American employees need to WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE !!!

More details:

United CEO David Wichmann was paid $18.1m in 2018. Wichmann's pay in 2018 was 316x greater than the UnitedHealths median employee pay. This is up from 2017 which was 298x). He recorded a total compensation of $83.2 million in 2017.

Andrew Witty who was named CEO of Optum in March 2018, was paid $21.2M in less than a year in the position.

2018:
The top 5 execs split $69.1m
The median employee pay at UH was $57,412

2017:
The top 5 execs split $65.6m in 2017.
The median employee pay at UH was $58,378

2018:
Stephen Hemsley - Executive Chairman = $11.4m
John Rex - CFO = $8.6m
Stephen Nelson - CEO of UHC = $9.8m

2017:
David Wichmann = $17.4m
Stephen Hemsley = $18.5m
John Rex = $7.9m
Stephen Nelson = $7.6m
Larry Renfro = $14.2m

This shows a trend of a DECREASE in median employee pay while the execs is increasing.

These facts can be found in the public financial reports released around March each year. Cant wait to see what happened in 2019!
