Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Accountability

Again one of these! Laying off tons of those that worked hard every day and impacting their lives tremendously, but who is asking "why?" Every time I open up LinkedIn, I see praise to one or another hard working individual, or team, being grateful what macys.com has allowed them to become, offering support and referrals, and telling them that it just gets better from here. It might. I wish and hope for all of them. But, not even one manager, director, senior staff, VP, or even higher has chimed in offering help (except HR, of course), although they are the ones responsible for this. They made wrong decisions, they were not able to advance their business, they decided to go with one or another big and very expensive company in the IT space, they played golf with other providers and forced their solutions onto their own area, although better ones were available. I don't see them being held accountable. Where are you? What have you to say? Got again a good deal out of it? Moving on to hurt other people now? Would like to see you stepping up.

We are all disappointed in Jeff .
But frankly, the entire Macy's Board is sh–.
Starting with the appointment of Hal, who was slick enough to bail.

I think it’s hilarious that this person, ignorantly stated, “ except HR, of course), although they are the ones responsible for this” which is a bold faced lie! HR doesn’t make these decisions, sadly, they have to execute and carry out the events. Please get your facts straight before making foolish accusations.

Sorry, forgot to mention, I was not laid off, I left a few years back, advancing myself tremendously.

All......I know how you feel I was let go last year Field Services. There comes a time though when you need to let it go. Let's face it, we knew the writing was on the wall. Not s matter of if, but when. No matter the CTO it would have happened. Our payrolls were too high. Take some time and get yourself together. Took me about 4 months. I am happy, great job and much less stress. You will find the same.
