Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

How cruel can this company get?

Some people who were laid off still have to come into work for the next two weeks. Why would they put them through that? Talk about not giving a damn about people who helped make this company what it is.

I really hope every one of you finds a much better job with normal management sooner than you expect. These a–holes don't deserve you.

Vey cruel. You haven’t seen anything yet. Wichmann is a hole. Layoffs will continue to occur every month until 2022.

Not sure when it will end but the next RIF a.k.a. layoff will happen in March. Optum will get hit very hard. I do not have an exact date but my sources say it will be March 4 or March 18 but who knows. They have been laying off people on random days to shake things up.

I was laid off and they wouldn't let me or the others go back and gather our things. Once they said that and then asked if I would help out with questions for 2 weeks I said no way. 5 years, loyal and ethical but the 6 people hired after me who I was training was safe...it was all manager preference and if they didn't like you they nominate you. that's all it was. they needed to produce "a body" and allowed "managers" to pick without any logical rationale

I worked for 2 days to transition projects and then I turned in my laptop and access card. I figured since I got paid for the 2 weeks whether I worked or not that I'd rather update my resume and job search at home.

I was part of the November waves and we were told that we did NOT have to work. We were told to use those 2 weeks to apply internally, network, etc.

It's sad to have to keep coming in, and a bit humiliating. But I do appreciate the time to get all my personal stuff off of my computer. Should have done it long ago. Or never put personal stuff on it in the first place. My life would have crashed big time if I would have been walked out.

It’s cause teams aren’t prepared for these layoffs and they need people to share what knowledge they have.

We're still getting paid you know. I was laid off and appreciate not getting walked out and actually working two extra weeks. Dont speak for others please.

It will get worse. Layoffs have been occurring since May 2019. You are just a n7mbwr. It’s going to be a bumpy ride. Next layoff will be in March but can’t confirm the date yet.
