to ost ID: @1wfj+13sFkBTm, I agree: customers are leaving in droves because aig simply can't service their insurance needs. it is a matter of time before this philosophy implodes.

agree there is a real disconnect at 25 and above. it probably coincides with much higher salaries including lucrative lti that most people don't get. most at the 24/25 level are not real executives and many have been here a long time. they are just trying to hold their cushy jobs so they act like everything is wonderful as to not draw any attention to their irrelevant roles. they all have targets on their backs at this point unless they are friends with pz and crew.

many level 24/25 get it, but are scared of the execs in ny so they just push everything downhill and never challenge the real problem which is the lack of competent leadership. the execs are only focused on the stock because that is how they will get their ultimate payday. look at their compensation deals. the big payday is in stock. their salaries are just tokens until the boat load arrives.

unfortunately, the customer and lower level employees have to deal with the day to day operations which are archaic at best and no longer serve the needs of a changing market. hubris won't allow upper management to admit that they do not know how to turn this company around so they continue to cut costs to shore up the numbers.

meanwhile customer are leaving in droves because aig simply can't service their insurance needs. it is a matter of time before this philosophy implodes.

  • unless the newest group of consultants can save the day because upper management obviously cannot.

There are some good mid level mgmt and some bad, difference is they RIFed most of the good mgmt, kept the bad and only hired more cronies that are even worse

Agree with Post ID: @qsd+13sFkBTm. A lot of mid level and lower level management are a big part of the problem too. Some management really need to learn management skills. It's really too bad that the feedback provided on performance reviews wasn't more tailored to reflect on their management skills.

Then you have mid lev management (lev 24-25) asking why morales are low? Why are turnovers so high? With a serious tone and serious face LOL

Like cmon, have they been hiding in the Corp Jet? Are they just plain stupid or just good actors?

It's amazing that whoever you talk to is so burnt out in this company. So many are looking for jobs and so many are just waiting to get RIF'd. What a toxic place to work. They would be better off asking for volunteers to leave. But they don't operate that way. They have to call in high priced consultants.

Not sure if it's true because it usually starts on the Tuesday of a pay week. But this company has got so cheap it may do it to avoid paying holiday pay for the next week
