Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Wrong Guy

There is no way on any planet that it makes sense Mr Hinrichs leaving Ford, on his own. He is not the guy who should be leaving. To say that Ford has a deep bench without him, is a clear miss because Mr Hinrichs was that deep bench. Rarely do you work two decades at a company and have such universal admiration for a person, this is just simply the Twilight Zone at this point. Fortunately if he returns to the industry he will not have any issue, because people with character like that do only come along once in a very long time. Best to you Joe.

@2koe+13sFuOAF Bennie Fowler was just a loud mouth EEOC appointee with absolutely no technical capability whatsoever, sort of like Hacksh*t. And let's not forget he was pushed out for bullying his subordinates...

@2byz Do6nt forget Quality guy canned too. Bennie Fowler. Auto business is cut throat.. There is little time to think because your lunch will be taken. Bennie was getting it done but wasnt "kind and gentle" enough for PC enforcers.

@2byz+13sFuOAF I think because Chris Farley told Hackett everything will be all electric and all about data soon... though its probably a wee bit out. I don't see everything going electric for another few decades if it lasts.

@2uoa - Just look at all the hard core automotive employees that have left and/or been pushed out from PD, Mfg, Purch, Supply Chain, MP&L in the past two years. The sh– is really going to hit the fan in the coming years. The company totally lost it under Hackett.

I feel Hackett directly caused the poor Explorer launch by pushing out the experience.

Could he be on his way to RIVIAN, he’s to young to retire.

The board probably said get rid of JH, and Jim and Bill assumed they meant Joe. In reality, Hackett couldn’t hold down a LL6 position with his BS.

Yeah - an old Mustang program manager/Chief Program Manager was fired from Ford for improper business practices (same thing as Raj Nair?) and is now a VP at Rivian.

Not bad.....

Totally agree with you. My guess is he took the fall for the disastrous Explorer lauch. Also, Hackett kept his yes man. But hopefully that won't be enough to save Hackett, and he will be gone soon, too.
How's that stock price lookin', Jim? Hinrichs won't be unemployed for long. Rivian would be a good fit for him.
