Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Any more cuts expected in February?

Or are we done until March, at least?

I also heard that Cary readiness is way behind plan, and they are having a hard time getting jobs filled because XRX reputation under Icon and competition from not dying sectors. I can’t wait until the market wakes up, adding a more public tarnish to what we know is a quickly sinking ship.

Cuts in Cary / Raleigh are on hold for a few months since some of those on the list have not even relocated yet. Predict 15-May

I heard a group of support people in Canada were given their notice. I think they supported field people for Canada and USA
That would mean any of them left are also going to be out soon enough
Just more sad news
It doesn’t seem to have an end to it

$400M equates to (roughly) 2600 heads when you factor severance. It may not happen in Feb, but wait for the March craziness after HP rejects again.

You don’t get to see such a clown show often, and how comical is it that Wall Street isn’t in on the joke (yet)?

I would bet money they are getting a list ready of more IRIF's to do in March just in case the HPQ deal is rejected again. They'll need to do something before announcing Q1 results to draw the attention away from the HPQ deal failure.

It is so dysfunctional that at times I laugh because I keep encountering one ridiculous situation after another. I'm not even talking about the craziness at the top, I am talking trying to do my job and the lack of resources around me. They have layed off so many key resources. Positions I never thought they would touch. Principal scientists, engineers, buyers, etc.

JV said we are all in the same boat but more and more are getting thrown overboard and we are going to run out of fingers to plug up the holes. The lifeboats may only be for those at the top.

I think I read that Xerox plans to cut 400 million more this year. So it’s just a matter of when and what. I don’t think we’ll see cuts in February, but who knows. Every day is a surprise when you work for Xerox!

It’s unlikely they have their act together to be able to react with further cuts after HPQ rejects their latest ridiculous offer on Feb 24.

However after that occurs, watch out.

Who knows anymore....cuts this week at PARC....its not like people were not busy or not doing a job. Some parts of X are getting to the point of being totally non functional due to so many being laid off. No new investments in this "tech powerhouse" I know of. Its a "Holding" company soon to become a shell and then a gravestone. Sad. Tons of really good bright people that WANTED to be proud and work for Xerox. Now moral is like wait for bad cancer news. You know its coming, its just a matter of when......get out now if you can.......
