Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

What's really going on?

Makes me sad there's so much speculation amongst us all given so many people see signs of impending change, but there's no information from the company.😔

False rumors? Haha, double contradiction! Merchandiser are ya? Well of course your stores are telling you that, they don’t want to do the work, but their management does! And no, we aren’t too big! Stores will eliminate skus as well as Mondelez, only keep what they need. In the past three years Hostess, Keebler, and nestle have all left DSD.....Mondelez is next! Don’t be naive! Your manager doesn’t want you to quit till it’s over! Advocate for yourself, they are!!

Aren't we too big to exit dsd?? All my stores said that they don't have time to do Nabisco on top of everything else. Must just be false rumors on this page. Good luck to everyone.

Kroger let go all of their floor scrubbing workers and they're going in house having their own employees take care of the night scrubbing. Think dsd is staying around much longer???

The Accenture transition is going to be a disaster. I'm not in one of the affected departments (yet), but the brain drain happening in Wilkes-Barre is going to k–l operations at least in the short term. Needless to say, I'm job hunting this year.

It’s pathetic to think they feel ALL of out roles are ‘transactional’ and easily replaced by drone employees who follow a script and don’t have the intuition or passion that’s honestly needed to do these jobs.
I’m saddened and offended that the bottom line is the deciding factor in deciding our futures and the best interest of our partners.
The fact that they dangle Severance and we risk losing it, and can’t move forward until these transitions and knowledge transfer is complete Is obscene. Thank you for caring about the middle working class Mondelēz. I’ve since stocked up on anal lube.

I’m sorry to hear you lost your job. I’ve talked to customer care people over the years and oat of them were incredible miserable! They were very candid and forthcoming with things that were going on! They knew what was coming and anyone in sales ought to see it as well! The red flags cannot be any more clear!

Approximately 150 Wilkes-Barre jobs will be absorbed by Accenture in waves - April, June and August. Additional announcements are forthcoming. I am one of those being impacted, and the news relayed in Wednesday’s Town Hall was completely unexpected.
Don’t ever be foolish enough to think any department or any person is indispensable.

Every single conspiracy was come to fruition actually! The multitude of steps the company has taken towards warehouse, these are all affirmations of what’s coming! Only thing missing now is the call......which will come soon! They will tell us when they are ready!

I just want to make sure I heard you correctly. So you've searched out a site that's specifically for the discussion of rumors, possible layoffs, happenings in companies, and you don't believe any of it is true, so you keep visiting the site, that you don't agree with, so you can aggressively defend Mobdelez's "we aren't getting rid of DSD" proclamation? Huh? WOW!!! Yeah, that's not weird at all.🤔 If you don't believe, what brought you to this site? If you don't believe, why don't you not visit this site? If you don't believe why don't you just keep going to your fabulous, 100% secure job that you love so much, and not worry about what people on this site are discussing? This is called "The Layoff." It's for the discussion of the very things people are discussing.

We're here because you're spreading rumors. You have no evidence that we are exiting dsd. We're not like Keebler and Nestle! DSD is our cash cow. Nabisco is too greedy to give it up! Besides stores can't handle our volume!

The ex nestle rep is spot on! Only top tier management is aware of the established timeline, until then it is important for things to be “business as usual”! How hard do you think people will work when they know they are losing their jobs? The morale can’t get mush worse than it is, but probably will anyways, when noticed is given! That they know! Meanwhile they will still need to complete all tasks and fulfill all contractual agreements that comes with DSD until DSD is over! That’s precisely why some companies offer retention bonuses.
The Keebler reps that stayed for the bonus are merchandisers, the ones that left to find new employment are reps.
Our DM, RDR, RVP, HR director are all left in the dark intentionally! Their response is very scripted! Believe me, they see the signs and know the truth!
They are close. Writing is on the wall!

So creepy and weird how many people "hang" around this site that say they don't believe DSD is ending. Why are you on this site? So incredibly weird. Some of you claim to have been visiting this site for years. Wow, even weirder! Get a life! If you don't think DSD is ending, I seriously cannot figure out why anyone would spend so much time on here arguing their stance. No one cares that YOU don't think DSD is ending. This is a site for people to discuss the 5 million red flags they see that suggests it is ending. If you don't think it's ending, please go away, and mind yourself. None of us on this site want your Kool-aid opinion.

This speaks volumes ! Again it’s going to happen we just don’t know when !!

Speaking of cash flows, Mondelez has been undertaking some major steps to enhance savings, which are aiding margins and cash flow. Moreover, such savings are being invested in brand-building endeavors. We note that management is on track with savings initiatives such as zero-based budgeting. Additionally, the company is on track with its restructuring program called the Simplify to Grow Program, which is aimed at reducing operating costs.

take it from an 25 year nestle rep there are only a few people in the company that know. our regional
bosses did not know till the day before our big meeting. it was business as usual but mondelez is mimicking nestles moves before we got our walking papers. just saying.

Oh we’re close to a DSD exit! Branch closures, CAO, EDI, Wilkes-Barre, retailers building huge warehouses, industry trends....these are just a few! Mondelez will continue to tote the company line, “we are committed to DSD”, and hold rally meetings to retain help, but understand this means nothing since retailers don’t care about how much Mondelez makes......they care about their bottom lines! At the end of the day, Mondelez will become more profitable with eliminating DSD. Health care, PTO, salaries, etc! With margins shrinking due to on line shopping, and fixed costs going up, they have no choice!!
Don’t be so gullible! May not have happened yesterday, but rest assured it will happen soon, very soon!

What’s really happening? Nothing noteworthy except for the same 3 people talking on this forum for the past 5 years who will still be hoping for the same thing 5 more years from now.

What a sad life to have this be the thing you devote your time to every day.

And.....what is the point? Do you think retailers want the same? And if by eliminating DSD, they could move closer to achieving this, don’t you think they would....or will? Of course! The are the ones driving the ship...not us!
