Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

The Higher your Bonus, The Higher Your Chance At Layoff

I know it doesn't make sense, but this is BNYM and nothing ever makes sense. Seriously though, the next rounds are gonna target those making good bonus money. For those making $3000 to $5000 in bonus money, you prob dont have anything to worry about, but for those making bonuses $8000 and up, and you've been around for awhile, you could be on the list for these next rounds. Believe it or not, there's A TON of people still getting bonus money at BNYM every year. It may be time to thin the herd.

You’re whining because your bonus was what? Oriskany Ny gets garbage every year and we bust our a– like everyone else . We’re luck to get 2.5 -3% and you’re b–ching about 6%. Gtfoh

I’m a J - when I was brought in HR said my bonus would be 6-8%. It’s been 5% Each year.
Raise 2%.
I was told raises would be down and bonuses down 10%. I got the exact same as last year. They set the expectation so low that when you get the same crummy amount as previous years somehow you feel good about it.

Every bill goes up, including my share of my crummy catastrophic insurance by more that 2% each year. But at least the top execs that are running this place into the ground continue to get their lavish bonuses.

And yes, I know it’s my choice to work here. Like Many I am looking to get out… But looking for the right opportunity. Different locations have different opportunities.

Most bonuses are more than that. Bonuses go to everyone at a J level or higher and average 10-15 percent of salary. The first bonus I ever got at the bank was more than that, although not by much.

At competing banks and firms, even 8k is considered a joke bonus. Shop around and you'll find jobs that offer 30 to 40k bonuses. BNYM's upper management is just flailing around mismanaging while others are making a k–ling.

Complete and utter nonsense. You're gone if they think you are useless.
