Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Shameful

In the midst of the national emergency, and companies having employees work remotely from home, Mondelez management once again behaves in a manner that is not only embarrassing but also downright shameful!
Yes, retail is the backbone of this organization, but so are it’s employees! Employees who have children whose lives are all disrupted by being kept home school, etc! Employees who have elderly parents to be concerned about!
To have a 25 year old, rookie manager, tell a retail merchandised that they must “follow their schedule” even though it entails an 16 hour day...cause “if they don’t, she will have to work the truck herself”......unbelievable!
Gotta say I’m not one bit surprised by this and so happy it is all in writing! Profits over people is once again the prevailing motto of this disgusting organization! Dirk, you working remotely? Do you care your managers are tell their employees to work 16 hour days despite all that is going on!!
Simply pathetic!! Hope this story makes the national news!!!!!

I’m just a PT merchandiser, semi retired, but my spouse is a full time rep for another top consumer goods company.
The difference in how the two companies are handling this...unbelievable! Mondelez is way behind the curb, as is typically the case, and we see it on nearly everything!
They pop their heads up, full of pride, for all they do, but people, this is what other organizations had been doing for years! They may be on that the largest but they are also one of the lamest! Take it from someone who sees it from two perspectives! Lame!
And yes, DSD is ending anyways! That we know!
Advocate for yourself, they won’t!

This company does indeed only care about one thing, and one thing only......profits! Not that all companies don’t care about profits, it’s the bottom line to a successful organization.....but they do so with little to no regard to their employees, at least the ones with boots on the ground!
Yes, as one post suggested, send in as much as is needed to fill the shelf! 500 case orders when a store is delivered 3 times a week is over the top! Any BTW, not a single item in our portfolio is anything anyone would need! This organization is full of corporate greedy pigs and self absorbed arrogant managers!! Dirk needs to open his eyes, beyond the profit wager, and get a better understanding of what is actually going on! It’s on his watch so I hope he cares! Maybe a few more lawsuits or settlements will wake him up? Great Lakes region in particular is a hot mess! Time to clean house!

I agree this company dont care if they put the sales and merchandisers at risk, if they did, they would lower the case loads to minnimum orders so we could get in n out of the store with minnimul exposure to other people. Instead they want to pack out the stores so they can take advantage and boost there bottom line... Then once the corona virus is under control there gonna say cause of the virus we have to get rid of dsd cause all the money we lost. How perfect for Dirk he can blame it on the virus.

Perhaps not where you are, but they sure do here! It’s not about not feeling comfortable going to work, it’s about work life balance during a national emergency! And to tell the rms I can’t pick up two extra deliveries because I need to get home so my wife can go to work, and than have a response that I must finish! Even though it’s a 16 hour day! Disgusting! Pigs! I’ve gotten it all in writing! I’ll risk losing my job to expose these corporate pigs!
They only care about money!!!! Not lives!!!!

Just be honest. Tell them you don’t feel comfortable going to work. Trust me! Nobody is getting fired right now.

Companies are offering flexible work schedules, not demanding employees work unreasonably long days..after employees share they need to balance thing! Mondelez is one of a kind...thank the lord above!! Don’t need another one like them! Gross!

You don’t need Oreo ritz or triscuit!! They need to consider their employees! None of our portfolio is anything anyone needs to live!
Management are pigs! Dirk, pay attention! It’s not what happens but how we control what happens!

They do not care about the little people in this company. They would not have us out there with hundreds of people in each account right now making our chances higher to become infected. All they care about is their bottom line and profits. I’ll be working as fast as I can each day to get done and home. Longer we sit in these stores in the middle of hundreds of customers we will greatly increase our chances of catching the virus. I get grocery will not close but they should be limiting the amount of stores each day or time in field.
