Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Stop putting our lives in danger.

While the White House has suggested limiting gatherings to 10 people or less, state and local officials are giving orders for an altered American reality as coronavirus cases across the US reach over 4,490 – a jump of more than 1,000 from Sunday, Sam's Club forces it's employees to come in close contact with members.

I worked at Sams during the recession one of the few companies that kept their employees working so the didn’t lose their homes and now with all the shutdowns many people are going to suffer but not us . Walmart is a great company if you crybabies don’t want or need to work then take leave of absence it’s your right or shut up and just use good safety measures and appreciate that you are not on the outside looking in

You can call out if you don’t want to work. Just cover it with your PTO.

I’m sure all the restaurant and theater workers with no jobs and no bennies will be glad to take your hours.

Hate to say this, but you’d rather be at Sam’s right now than Costco.

Costco just had someone at their home office get corona and die of it, but they all still gotta come to work. Google it.

Meanwhile Walmart and Sam’s says if you feel sick, stay home. No points against you. And if you get corona, they’ll pay for your two weeks of quarantine. Is any other retailer doing that for their people?

Also, grocery stores can’t close. Literally the entire country would starve and there would be mass chaos. You’d literally have mass looting and the military would have to be in the streets.

So Sam’s is doing the best they can. Stay home if you feel unsafe.

At least put a limit as to how many are cramming into the building and creating more distance between us and members. I’m sorry my my customer service isn’t going to be the best when the company puts my life at risk, and my family’s for that matter... and the ignorant customers on top of us not understanding what ‘space’ means. Sure we can use our time but how about think about US for a change!

They are not forcing you to come in. You can take a week off if you want with out being penalized. They announced that a couple of days ago. You just gotta make sure you have enough pto só your check is not short. I still think they should let us use our sick hours.
