Opinion (based on 36 years of experiene): It's coming, brace for impact

A - We will do Furloughs
B - We will also have layoffs
C - A&B will happen fast
D - The demand drop mess will not clear fast
E - National fiscal and monetary mistakes are piling up, structural issues emerge
F - This will take a decade or two to heal
G - Chinese Virus changed our lives forever, we need to accpit it and start adopting ASAP

No furloughs. Just layoffs. If rehire is necessary, it will be as a contractor.

  1. Yes, there will be layoffs as previously announced. It will take 6 months for oil demand-supply to come to an improved balance— crude to $40/bbl soon enough. That 9.3% yield on CVX stock should attract some investors soon It's a quagmire right now but...as a friend told me "our fathers fought wars in foreign lands, the least we can do is buck up under self-quarantine, hold steady on portfolio investments and wait this COVID-19 virus out".
