Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Aerospace is top heavy

Now i am noticing more VPs and Directors than every before (30+ years). And they added a whole new level of Senior Directors! What happened to "flattening" the org? We lost entire first level managers in ES engineering only to be replaced by more higher mgmt. It's k–ling us. Anyone got ideas how long it will take until this ends? Like Office Space, i get emails for status from four different mgmt types!!

Not sure if there's a term for it, but it's part of "kiss up, kick down" culture. Basically, if upper management inflates the number of subordinate positions, you have more people to blame and throw under the bus if things go south.

It is just one cycle in their process of churn; using legal actions to weed out the protected classes, replace them with emerging markets or entry levels. It works at any level of the org. In awhile, they can target the senior directors and weed out the identities they find undesirable, regardless of performance or protected status.
