Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

The government is our only hope.

Our club is doing 300+k daily since this virus started. This past Saturday we did 600k. You really think these greedy higher ups is worried about our safety? Lol all they see is $$$$ and until the government demands Walmart to completely shut down, we are staying open. The managers are all trained to calm and say that they care. I feel bad for the new people because with out pto you won’t get paid and we all know How long it takes for the new hires to just get 1 hour. Stay safe everyone!! Best of luck to everyone!

First as a manager I am not trained to act like I care about the hourlies. I do care about them on my own. I’m right up front helping transfer merchandise right along with the hourlies trying to help get people thru the line. This company does a lot of stuff I disagree with but this is not on them this time. Anyone has the option to stay at home except for us managers but I still have a mortgage and many other things I still need to pay on every month so I’ll continue to keep working. As far as shutting down WalMart or Sams that’s not going to happen. They could however limit the amount of people that enter the building and only 1 person per membership. As a father and husband I’d prefer my wife and children remain at home in a more safer environment.

You see what's happening without us closing, now imagine we announce Walmart and Sam's is closing for 2 weeks...it would be chaos at many locations, not like now, MORE. I hate to say it we have to stay open at some capacity.

Wal-Mart I hear is reducing hours, I'm sure we will follow suit within the next week. Just be safe everyone, wash your hands buuuuut honestly take a minute and ask yourself if your government has or is making the right steps for your family and your circle of loved ones? Then ask yourself that in 2 weeks, see if you have the same answer... Honestly do it. We have know about this for more then a month...

This will not ever happen the President of the united states as well as our CEO have both said grocery stores will not close be careful what you wish for they are already saying 1 to 5 million people will lose jobs because of this. What this is really about is people want someone to pay them to stay home not because they are sick but because they are scared that is a personal choice the company has stated that you do not have to work if you feel uncomfortable. I personally chose to work everyday because I have a family to support and save my PTO in case I need it later
