AAR Restriction Letters being handed out at NS Terminals

NS is passing out some phony AAR letters that purport to give rail workers some sort of free pass to circumvent government checkpoints/travel restrictions. Despite the AAR being an industry group and having no real government authority or power, NS is telling it's workers to take these papers home with them so they can flash them to cops or national guard if they need to in order to keep coming to work if their local area has a travel ban. What a JOKE!!!! This sort of arrogance and entitlement is typical of Big Rail and Class 1s as a whole. If your locality bans travel then stay home, don't think that the AAR has any sort of say over anything!! While freight moving is important, it is to the US government to make that distinction to the public, not the AAR

What don't you understand that an industry trade group ("AAR") has no right to publish "edicts" and supplant government orders!!! If the State/Federal Government issues statements saying rail workers are allowed to ravel to work then FINE!! But for the AAR to come out ahead of that and start making commands and proclamations is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!!

The Class 1 Railroads and their Trade Group AAR have no final say over policy of the United States!!!

All of the railroads are considered essential under the DOD guidelines. The AAR represents all of the railroad. Therefore it's easier for this one organization which is located in DC to send this same letter to all railroads and government agencies. I don't get why you don't understand that. My buddy that works for CSX received the same exact letter

Just who do ya think ya are? People need to realize that they, whatever they do and whoever they work for just might not be as important as they think.

The fact that you have to put “union” in front of carman is hilarious 😂 No, you’re just a carman, your union sold you out many years ago. “By ThE wAy, I’m A uNiOn CaRmAn”

The country could do away with the railroad at this point, to say the country depends on them is comical. Trucks can do everything for far cheaper now days. Screw the RR’s

Federal law supersedes state law , the railroad act of 1937 or 1936 is governed
