Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

BNY Mellon WFH is a total Joke

Most BNY Mellon employees have no clue how to utilize work from home properly. They all view work from home as a convenient way to avoid working altogether. They are enabled by a completely inept tech support dept that is totally clueless how to set up and support work from home. Tech support has no clue on how to manage RSA tokens, how to troubleshoot the vpn, how to properly manage virtual desktops, how to troubleshoot Citrix. What a joke. As or the employees, they will find any and every excuse to say that WFH isn't working properly. Anything to avoid work and blame it on a technical issue so they can get a paid day off to recover from all the burnout. BNY Mellon can fix all of this by simply offering voluntary layoffs so they can let all of the burnouts leave. Why keep people who don't want to be there? Why keep enabling people that sit around and occupy space, that sit there day in and day out hoping and praying that the end will come and that its their time to be let go? Just be done with it already!!!!

I've been WFH for years, so it's funny to see everyone else doing it too.

I get way more done at home than I ever did at the office. They seem to have improved the infrastructure in the past couple of weeks. I used to get kicked out of Skype a couple of times a day, and lose connectivity to a specific server. Since they had to add bandwidth for more WFH people, I haven't had a single isssue.

This is a joke. I utilize every one of the things you said in your post. They are all working. Sounds like you and your sh–ty attitude are the problem.

The ones who gets things done in the office normally still gets things done at home. The ones who watches ESPN in a tiny window in the corner of their monitor now watches ESPN on a large flatscreen TV at home.

BNY is the only company where people climb the ladder of success with their hands in their pockets. It’s common for these folks not knowing how work from home works.
Sad but these are the people middle management promoted... go BNY go!

Is that how YOU work from home? Because my experience was very different. Tech support was ok. I worked longer hours and was constantly “collaborating” with others that thought I was always available. I was very happy to be so productive. Most of the people I know actually like to WORK. Just saying, because obviously we have different experiences with WFH.

Dude I’ve been the most productive I’ve ever been in this past full week that I worked from home. Who knew not being distracted by coworkers 3 feet away had such advantages? But there are a lot of bozos here.
