Furlough - All This Water Cooler Talk

Anyone familiar with it @ Ford. Been there a while and heard it happened back in the day but never heard details of what it entails.

Mandatory vacation is coming 4/6-4/9. I expect Hackett will announce it tomorrow during the Global Huddle. Just iike the July shutdown, but 3 months early.

I am really freaked out about this company. I just now paid off my vacation I took during holiday break. It was nice of company to provide bonus - reduced albeit. Now talk of this Furlough.

I look for new job.

The way I understand the stimulus package the G men are rolling out if the companies keep folks employed and there are no layoffs previous loans are forgiven.

Doubt seriously Ford would want to miss out on loan forgiveness or any company for that matter. after all this was not the fault of the U.S. companies who are taking the brunt of this.

No pay, can file for unemployment. Cannot last longer than 12 months. Very unusual for large corporations in US.
