Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

I'd go back in a heart beat

This is neither a joke nor a cynical post. It is really painful and heartbreaking to read all of these negative comments. Yes, the company has issues. What company doesn't? Believe me, I felt a lot of the frustration, anger, disappointment and mistrust that many of you are feeling right now and I got out! Unfortunately, finding gainful employment has been a nightmare! With all that is going on with COVID-19, especially how it is affecting EVERYONE'S stock, I wish, now, that I still had my job and was still bringing in income. No, I'm not a Honeywell troll, from upper management, or anything like that. If allowed to return, I would do my best to help change the negative disposition, and hopefully start shaping the future of the company with a more positive demeanor. But it takes 2 to tangle and you, Honeywell, have to do your part as well. Please try to do what it takes to help ease your employees distress. Their feelings (in all aspects) matter. If you want to regain their confidence and trust, then listen, act accordingly, and remember that it's the little things that count. Again, I would love to return to my job and there are probably others out there as well. So, Honeywell, if you're listening, and/or paying attention, Act with Urgency, Be Courageous, Be a Zealot for Growth, Have a Passion for Winning, Think Big and Make it Happen, and Go Beyond to Inspire Greatness (in your employees) so that you can, once again, Become your Best. These behaviors apply to ALL and should be supported by ALL, not just Band 3 and lower. Also, a lot of great talent has left and is still leaving the company. ONLY YOU, HONEYWELL, CAN HELP MITIGATE THIS ISSUE. Thanks.

Everyone who still works at this sweat shop, please say this out LOUD: ‘Honeywell does NOT care about me or my family. I am nothing more than a number. The grass IS greener on the outside. There are companies out there who care about their people, not just their stock prices. I need to leave and leave fast!’

I don't know anyone who's left the company and can spout off most of the HON behaviors from memory...sure sounds like a troll to me!

I was ecstatic to get out. Had a great job and team, but the constant stress, political games, continual re-do of Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoints, elimination of benefits, and inability to take care of, protect, and promote the team wore me down and impacted my health. Sure you can get good pay, but it comes at a price. Learned some great skills and lessons, but I would never go back.

Haha...if you like progressively worse everything from your company, then you will love HON. I'm cracking up at this post...as soon as I left (organized my own layoff by training Mexicali) I started making more money, treated better, more flexibility and better benefits. HON was horrible and will continue to take from employees...the younger kids they hire have no idea how good it used to be to work for HON, so they don't even give a rip. They just figure it out after 3 years or more and leave. Sometimes sooner.

There's no changing them. My spouse has been with them nearly 20 years and has had all benefits systematically stripped. Where we live, they pay the most and my spouse is valuable to them and busts a– which is why they haven't been layed off this entire time. I'm grateful for their employment but you're delusional if you think you'd make any difference at all. 50 hour work week before overtime and we don't qualify for that. 50 hours, lol. We're past that most weeks.

Honeywell was a good run for me. However the WFH no policy was implemented and then the hub strategy. - How’s that working for them now?

I still would have stayed given the option.

Remember there are two great days in a boat owner's life. The day he first gets the boat and the day he gets rid of it.

I was lucky enough to get laid off.
Paid vacation for a few months and then hired to do what I generally was doing at the same pay, but the stress is way lower. No crazy overtime requirements. Heck, I even have a real office with a door now.

Maybe you are not as flexible where you can live/work. And yes sometimes you have to take what you can get. But i've been around. Trust me Honeywell (at least aerospace) is nothing to write home about.

No, this is not a post from Human Resources.
@ptf
Thank you so much for your honesty and willingness to put yourself out there, albeit anonymously! Anyone else out there? And please, folks, this is not a hoax. Speak up. Even though I may not get rehired, it feels great to admit to myself and to whomever is reading this post, that I WANT MY JOB BACK!

I left Honeywell a few months ago also. Although my new job is a good job, I really loved my job at Honeywell. If the issues I had were corrected, I would go back ASAP. Treat the employees with respect and practice what you preach on the 8 behaviours that we as employees were graded on.

Assuming you were not asked by HR to post this...as they have asked many including myself to do I will reply below.

From an unemployed perspective HON may not seem "that bad". Kind of like a husband that doesn't beat you "that often". Trust me you are better off.
