Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Furloughs and unemployment

1 week work/pay 1week furlough/nopay.
So many states don't allow unemployment in these types of partial layoffs.
We need to contact governors and congress to get this changed to allow for unemployment benefits to be paid on those furlough weeks.
Start flooding the offices if your state won't allow unemployment. Flood the gov inboxes and phones. Also flood social media.

And there will probably be another furlough in Q3 and/or Q4. Through in a RIF or 2, and you've got a repeat of a few years ago. Same sh–, different day.

So in Arizona, we can apply immediately? Did someone say they waived the one week requirement? Can it be all done online? Does anyone have the website? I have been paying into unemployment for 30 years and never used it but now may be my time. $240 a week is better than nothing....

In Arizona we get a WHOPPING 240 a week. Lowest in the nation, they say.

Effective across all of Corporate (yes including US and Canada).

FYI...

Ohio waved the one week freebie, and will be effective immediately. They also waved the employment search criteria during the Covid crisis.

I can only hope other states do the same.

How much is a week payroll for honeywell? They arent furloughing everyone by any stretcjh. Compared to 10B in cash and a 5B bridge loan at zero percent...

Another furlough again. This happened last year for 2 weeks also. All while Honeywell is in the middle of a $10 billion stock buyback to boost shares because they have so much free cash flow. Tired of taking it in the shorts.

Florida is paying unemployment for any loss of pay during the Corona outbreak, so make sure to file. I don't think they have waived the one week period but after week 2 I believe you get paid for both.

2 weeks unpaid. Just like prior paycuts, no enter building, no log in from home, no use of company laptop at all and no use of company phone. First team's week starts 3/30.

The day you're furloughed, apply for unemployment. That is the first instance of what will require to be 2 week's loss of pay. Do not let the company feed you the line that you don't need to. Unemployment will start AFTER you apply, and AFTER you have gone 2 weeks without pay...it does NOT need to be consecutive weeks. If you fall for the line of "you will only be furloughed for a week so don't bother" then the NEXT time you're furloughed, in that same year, you cannot retroactively drag that prior week into your claim or 2 week wait period. Be smart. Be proactive. Look out for yourself...the company will not.

Arizona has already dropped the 1 week waiting period, as well as the work search requirement.

Hmmm Q2 starts Monday March 30th ... when does the actual furlough start?

Any idea of duration? Is it just April or are they saying this is going to last entire Q2?

Global and cross SBG. Effective Q2.

Good question. It is probably (and usually) just the US...

Any idea of scope? Is this all SBGs or just some? Limited to US? Or global? Effective when? So many questions...
