Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Discount

Honestly an extra 10 percent off for not even 2 weeks does nothing for me. I am tired. My team members are tired. We’re trying to stay safe but this is going to hit in store sooner or later. Let 1.5x base pay be what we get now. Keep your double pay overtime. Or cut us a check. Even $300 would help. Whole Foods please do more for us. Please.

We did work harder because the extra money we got was from labor we didn't spend. No one minded because we would literally get an extra full paycheck. My teams gainsharing was usually between 4 and 5 hundred dollars but would get as high as 850 during busy season. Seafood at my store was getting 900 - 1000 regularly even when they weren't busy. They really should have hired another TM but at least they got something extra for their efforts.

Bring back gainsharing. Seems like tm worked harder and were happier when this system was in place

Every little helps. But masks are the most important now and crowd control. All stores are supposed to do it. If yours is not doing it call tipline, call local gov and talk to your stl.

Besides the fact that Tm's would love this (TM Happiness), it would also(satisfy & delight customers). This would create more return customers buying more product (we support our local and global community, we create wealth through profits & growth etc.)

The real problem we have is we cannot ever get rid of Tms who are unfathomably terrible. Let's make it easier to separate Tm's so we can bring in new people who are awesome. I've been there many years so this isn't a rip on veterans but most of our Tms would be fired if they worked at any other business. They hang on for years at Whole Foods because we are too scared of lawsuits. We have Two Tms who should have pointed out (They have more than 6 points) and are on final for performance and continue to repeatedly do the things they are on final for. Now since we have point forgiveness they aren't showing up. They aren't getting points and meanwhile all their old point are falling off. They aren't even calling out for illness. We cannot get rid of them even though every member of leadership agrees they need to go all the way up to regional. What's the deal? Who has insight on this. We could get more done with fewer people if we could clean house every once in a while. TM's know they can't be touched and don't care about any corrective action.

March 31st call out sick. This society needs us, they should pay us enough to prosper, not just survive. I want stock options and more vacation. I want increased labor %'s for the store (maybe return the labor % to 2009 levels) let's hire more people and train them to love food and love customer service. We are the nerve endings of our society's nervous systems. We matter and we deserve more than to struggle, we deserve to thrive.

We’d like to show our appreciation by inviting you to spend money in our store at a time when absolutely nothing is on sale, even though we are still getting discounts from our suppliers. Way to dig deep, Whole Foods.

I don’t want honk it’s greed man. People are afraid, there are so many complexities in anyone’s life. They are asking for help...from the richest person in the world. You know maybe a few weeks ago a family of for had to working spouses, no it’s all on the Person who works for wholefoods. The person that on a daily basis knows they have to work in an environment in which they have to potentially get sick. Maybe it’s a student with a house full of roommates and now most of them aren’t working. They are working in a place where they could only hope that they could give them a gift card so they could buy thing they need and see on the shelf’s everyday hoping they could buy. Or thinking if only them as team members could take a single box of all the Food PFDS is has been throwing away during this pandemic do to the fact their sales have dropped but STLs continue to ask the department to make food. With a failed coordinator team who says hey we will get you containers to make hot food to go, only to say oh oh we were shorted again. I know we have a two hour long meeting about this last week but you know we in fact couldn’t allocate containers. Please just keep throwing the food away, and ignore the fact you have service, struggling workers we could donate to the food or bakery’s massive spoilage (if it’s within TBP) to during this time. people are scared and asking for help, not everyone can work from home where you and your check are safe.

Richest company in the world. They should do more. The current offer is what you could call "mighty white of them".

Greedy. People are also losing their jobs. Be grateful they even did anything.
