Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Look out agreement personal large layoff are coming. Read the last question on that FAQ document UP release.

"Q21: Are agreement management and administrative employees participating in RULA?A21: The intent of RULA is to include management and administrative agreement personnel in this program. We will be working with the various unions over the next couple of weeks to determine how that participation will look."

In other words yes there will be massive furloughs coming to union workers. We just had to make it look like we are all sharing in the pain by making management take some pain first.

Furloughs actually make sense RIGHT NOW. Last year it was psr at work. But given the pandemic right now I understand.

Managers are not going to suffer greatly under RULA or any other reduction, because many have options for employment outside of the railroad. For most UP is a pit-stop anyway, as it was for me and many others who took the position as a first job out of school. If anything, RULA is an opportunity to seek out better employment.

If you have a degree from an accredited state or private university and UP management experience on your resume, you can get a job at almost any major company in the US or internationally. The agreement employees are stuck, and they know it. Hence why they're constantly complaining.

Agreement layoffs are pretty sure to come. Many agreement personnel are excited to hear about the pay cuts of management via RULA, but we all will be negatively impacted. No reason to laugh from either side. We are all brothers and sisters. Take care everyone.

Furloughs are happening because of PSR stop blaming the COVID-19... it was bad before but let’s blame the virus!Yeah no! Too many people at the top doing absolutely nothing to run the railroad!
