How long until the genius consultants realize that the September/ October layoffs are perfectly aligned with peak hurricane season. They might want to push that up if they want to be certain they can get the Gulf Coast people off the books before the end of the year.

What's the point? That someone incompetent who is on the chopping block should be able to milk a few more paychecks for some reason? No one else has this precious gift from everyone who works for
a living. Let them rely on the government freebees provided by taxpayers, like the rest of the freeloaders.

I worked the GOM for a decade. Trust me, even if the hurricane stranded workers out on platforms, rigs or vessels if you are going to be laid off worst case scenario for HR is that your release is delayed by a week. A storm will not save your job.
