Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

Wells Fargo hires new operations head from BNY Mellon

Folks,

I'm shocked! But really, I'm not.

All of this really doesn't matter in the long run though as BNY Mellon has only one lever to pull. That lever is cost reduction.

Expect more layoffs in the future.

"There are multiple other companies in the BNY offices’ cities that will hire you if you think you are talented and unappreciated at BNY" — can that poster name some companies for someone who is in their fifties as opposed to some millenial right out of school? (please exclude fast food companies from your response).

If you hate our company so much, then why not apply for a job at a different company? There are multiple other companies in the BNY offices’ cities that will hire you if you think you are talented and unappreciated at BNY...

Good lucks Wells Fargo ppl. Don’t get fired until you don’t know what’s happen. Lester is good at that. TOP man on this. As he’s always thought himself so high up. Life not easy going forward but will be worse for you folks.

This company is following the LB path back in 2008. Smarts once either left or laid off . Only scary cat or cunning politicians or L1 gho-t are left.
All of these never does anything, all they do is check their bank account twice a month to see if BNY paid them for doing nothing.
I see some L1 lazy gho-t sleeping on 12th floor. Guess what this guy also got promotion and now filing PR, go BNY go!

Really, Lester, isn't it time for you to hang it up? Ride into the retirement sunset with all the loot you acquired–perhaps not even deservingly. Half the time, you don't remember where you are after all. But if you do leave, please take your direct report that falls asleep in your townhalls.

Be on the lookout for Terri Messina to succeed him. She directly reports into Lester.

To my friends at Wells - so sorry you will be subjected to being berated, belittled, and fired unceremoniously by your new Head of Operations. Here's what I learned working in Ops at BNYM under Lester: He thinks subject matter experts should be fired because why do you need experts? They can figure out he's a fraud. He ha8es anyone who knows more than he does (99% of the banking population). He has no use for managers who actually do work -he wants them to act as cheerleaders who are constantly looking over the staff's shoulders. He wants no personal work space - heaven forbid if you are not in a cubicle that has a low wall and more than 1 meter of space - you will be on top of one another eventually. He was the Exec Sponsor of the Employee Resource Group for people with disabilities and did exactly zero in that role. Good luck, Wells Fargo!
