Honeywell sent us email on March 30 that we are "essential" workers and allowed to travel to work. It doesn't really matter how long the lock-down is extended. Honeywell at some point will order us back in.

From letter:

As you may be aware, earlier today, Arizona Governor, Douglas Ducey, issued Executive Order 2020-18 (the “Order”), pursuant to which he directed Arizona residents to “limit their time away from their place of residence” except in specifically enumerated circumstances. Governor Ducey’s Order is drafted such that employees are expressly permitted to leave their place of residence “to participate in or fulfill Essential Functions outlined in Executive Order 2020-12”. Executive Order 2020-12 defines Essential Functions to include, among many other activities, the following areas that Honeywell’s Arizona operations support:

  • Essential Infrastructure Operations to be defined broadly and including airport operations and distribution centers;
  • Transportation including airlines necessary for essential operations;
  • Manufacture, distribution and supply chain for critical products and industries supplying essential products and services in and for industries such as transportation, support of the national defense, and products used by Essential Businesses and Operations.

Therefore, consistent with federal guidance and Governor Ducey’s Order, Honeywell’s Arizona Aerospace sites remain open for normal operations, and if you are not in the “remote worker” or “work from home” category as determined by your manager, you are to continue reporting to your designated Honeywell site for normal operations.

For the open office they will probably throw up sheets of plexiglass separating the personal work areas.
Get used to living in a fishbowl...

  • and buy plexiglass stock

They are talking about changing osha guidance on offices. All these open office plans could be wiped out so quickly.

In addition to turning your video on during conference calls, Honeywell has enabled the
heart rate /step feature portion of teams. This requires you to connect your fitness device to teams to monitor your steps away from your computer....

I can see Hon leadership having a mental breakdown. After all, there is no way that any of us can possibly be effective and productive in our jobs unless we are all colocated in the same building. Preferably in a large, overly bright, open office space.
