Wearing a Mask at Work?

Interesting communication today about returning employees providing (even making!) their own masks (PPE). You should know that if the work environment at DV is hazardous enough whereby employees are required to wear masks to stay safe (including prevention from illness) – then Honeywell is obligated by law (OSHA) to either provide, or pay for the appropriate PPE.

Actual the cloth face masks are not ppe. They don’t protect you but protect people from you. So they aren’t covered under OSHA. These are very different from the N95s which are considered PPE

rgy+14JAvfOy,

This is not a hoax. A site leader told me so in person this week. Masks will be required when everyone returns. Per OSHA and other Federal laws, Masks must be provided by the company.

If they provide the mask, guaranteed your insurance premium will increase, or possibly lose another merit increase or reduction/suspension of 401k match, etc. Using the last 15 years as a guide, the MO of Honeywell has been to cost shift as much expense to the employee as possible.
