Has anyone heard when we can expect more layoffs?

If they don’t lay you off they will fire you... they have been babysitting computers REALLY serious now so they can state they had a “reason” to let you go! IF they were smart they would actually babysit the Managers computers! They are the Worse when it comes to Not working! What a waste of company money!!

If you live and work in California and you quit or are fired or laid off all of your accrued unused vacation time must be included in your final paycheck. This is state law and if you were recently let go and were told otherwise they have broken state law.

If you are still employed and are in California and they are suggesting you should take PTO either by “use it or lose it” that is also illegal.

To the person above who mentioned the PTO payout...if you are laid off, they payout a maximum of one week of PTO. You lose anything above that. So maybe your manager really cares about you. Either she wants you to be relaxed and happy or she doesn't want you to lose what you have accrued when you are laid off. Good luck!

During one of Dave's "daily dose" a while back, he did say he did not accept the paycheck protection program because Optum has saved enough money to be financially okay. He said there will be no layoffs or furloughs. A month later during a recent team huddle, my manager informed us that other departments are asking their employees to take furloughs. My manager mention she is asking all of us to take PTO's to relieve stress(wink, wink, hint, hint). I don't buy what my manager is saying. Thought my manager a is caring, compassionate, "transparent" manager but I think the upper ups are subtly telling the mid-levels to tell the workers to take PTO's so they won't have to pay us as much PTOs when the layoffs start coming down the pipes. But then I may be paranoid. I am grateful that I am still employed there but it's on a weekly basis. Very stressful the work production and quality matrix that is used to measure a an employee. I HATE THE OFF SHORING!!!! doesn't anyone care???? BRING JOBS BACK TO AMERICA!!!! President Trump, make this happen!

When the offshore employees start coming back in the office they will start the layoffs a.k.a. RIF. They are looking to see when you log on and off your computer and time you post in HR. One good lawsuit to make the press.... it’s on it way. Karma

Maybe it will be a little while. Dave Wichmann says he deserves every penny of his 52 million dollar compensation because they have not laid anyone off lately. Of course, as someone who was laid off in February, I would like a chance to argue with that. But anyway, if they lay people off now, he will lose that excuse not to reduce his own pay. Looking for a comparable job is really tough right now, so hang on if you can.
