Shell provides 3 weeks for each year worked.

Greed.
I took the Shell severance back in 2016 for 21 years of service in Upstream. That was to sign the special "not sue" agreement. The standard severance for anyone is 10 weeks. I highly doubt they can afford 3 weeks for every YOS in this environment. So glad I went back downstream as oil and gas is nowhere to be for a long time. I wish everyone the best but there are no jobs to be had.
I suppose Shell could always cut its severance but that would be a risky thing to do from a legal perspective. The severance policy currently in place is 3 weeks/78 max. I have it in writing. I am a Shell employee eligible for severance as an expat returning to the US.
While Shell has given 3 weeks per YOS in the past (max 75 weeks), do you REALLY think they are going to be that generous this year? They just cut their dividend for the first time since WWII.....how can Shell then turn around and tell their investors that they are paying 3 weeks per YOS severance packages?
Not going to happen...the dividend was cut, so the severance has to be cut as well. if we get 2 weeks per YOS, we will be lucky (yes, i am a Shell employee)
Good for Shell. You should go apply there.
Chevron should also consider giving everyone a million dollars, cash. because we are all hurting in these trying times. Because, you know, they should consider that, because it would be a great help to all, not just those getting laid off.
You too - the Chevron Way champion. You have not learnt anything.
That's a good idea, just quit CVX and go work for Shell. Oh, wait, you can't, they wouldn't hire you. You also can't go get a cushy WFH software job for 500k either because you're not qualified. How about the lottery, why not just buy a ticket, the odds are better, lol.
Dividend has taken over Human Energy 😀😀
It makes sense as it is pretty hard to find a job outside. Chevron should help employees who are going to be impacted. It is about helping human energy as Chevron keeps claiming.
Shell severance provides 3 weeks for each year. Minimum of 12 weeks and maximum of 78 weeks (1.5 years).
Nice to think about... but it won’t happen.
Why would they do that when if you don’t take the EOI they will just get rid of you anyway. There is no incentive for them to do that now and no value for shareholders.
Remember, that is who CVX is trying to please. Not some disgruntled employee
Nice suggestion. Upper limit could still be 52 weeks. This will help middle aged employees who have worked less than 26 years.
Chevron provide ‘enhanced’ severance in some locations, but not in US
Good luck with that. How does that increase shareholder value? Now if Chevron buys Shell than that might be different.
This would be a great help for everyone.
